Does it benefit me at all towards income from my property to spend money on beautification? I see most of my upper level friends have spent alot on it and curious if a benefit or just for fun.

No, it does not benefit you. It doesn't increase property value as is suggested in the game. It's just a matter of what to do with disposable cash when it starts rolling in faster than you can get rid of it.

Some people like to try to block their building numbers with trees, but that's a generally pointless strategy. As most people who are dedicated to robbing will rob them once anyway to see what their upgrade level is.

I personally don't use decorations. I use every amount of space I can either for money or defense buildings.

Decorations are for aesthetics only and do not increase the IPH (Income Per Hour) of your hood. They won't even keep robbers like me away. Nothing can cover up that giant money bag sign floating above the target.

If you like to spruce up your hood, then by all means throw your money at those pretty things.

Most decorations go on sidewalks.

No benefit other than you get to look at a well-kept hood. I actually got so tired to looking at my "crammed like sardines" hood, that I sold a bunch of buildings and now have lots of wasted space. But, I'm pleased with how my hood looks, and I guess that's all that matters.

They really need to add more decorations to this game. Everything they have now seems to cost gold. $$$$$$$

I won't comment about this, I'm seeing Red Phone Boxes Anonymous, apparently the first step to knowing you have an addiction is accepting it, I just need one more Red Phone Box then that'll be it I promise......maybe two.....

My strategy exactly. :)

I'm thinking of using some decorations to hide my NC. Not quite sure what to do, yet.

I think you could probably get away with 3...

You'd think so, but doesn't have to be the case. All decorations from what I can see can be placed anywhere in the hood except streets.

No offense but that's one of the dumbest "strategies" in this game. Do you think people don't know that Night Clubs are worth hitting? If someone sees a level 10 pawn shop and a level 2 night club, 10 times out of 10 that NC is getting hit.

In fact, i'm MORE inclined to hit your buildings if I noticed you trying to "hide" them. Let's me know its worth my while.

I always get screwed doing that...

I'll see like 2 lvl10 houses and 2 lvl 5 MT and 2 lvl2 lofts and tshirt stands hiding uncollected and I'm like sweeeet!!!

Hit them and they are like lvl1... rawr...

What do you do if you see a level 1 nightclub ready to be collected? You hit it, of course.

What do you do if you see a level 1 nightclub not ready to be collected? You move on and think nothing of it.

What do you do if you see a level 10 nightclub not ready to be collected? You write the persons name down and look for them later.

See the difference?

Well if I have to look at it constantly I want it to look nice - so benefit is more for myself.

There is no difference with me. Any upper echelon building (NC, MT, Loft, Casino, etc.) will be hit no matter what level it's on. Only a novice player would pass up robbing any of those buildings no matter what level the building was at.

If I notice you have level 1 upper echelon buildings i'm still going to remember the person's name for later.

An experienced robber knows to forgo all the "trash" buildings like Diners, Sports Bars, Gas Stations, and Laundromats (unless robbing for Respect points).

I guess i'm just that cynical of a person. If you don't collect from your top tier buildings, i'm gonna rob you for slipping up. Even if its just level 1.
