So I was attacking a rival and I suddenly noticed this new unit in my squad. It's called the Arcane Defender.

Defense: 453

Has anybody else received the Arcane Defender?

My income was $3200 and I didn't get it :( its not fair to group my lvl 31 in the same bracket as lvl 100! although I got it for CC, but would gladly exchange it for one in KA.

It's easy to get pulled in other directions.


I do find it humorous that they called it an "event" though. Particularly when it was only three days long.

What did they expect, did they really think people would spend hundreds of real dollars to speed up build and upgrade timers? Maybe, but I doubt that many, if anyone at all, did that to any high degree.

So, in essence this was an awards ceremony that was already decided before the "event" began.

Now, it's possible that the entire thing was an attempt to ferret out the cheaters who most certainly would try to win this thing thru nefarious means.

If that was the case then Bravo Funzio. I truly applaud you.

Congrats to those who won - these tournaments are more achievable than you think and 4000 was very reasonable. It was pretty much what I expected. Enjoy folks!

P.s. you don't have to be a camper to get good IPH. In fact it's much better if you don't camp to improve your IPH.

I'm all for you playing however you want, you just annoy me how you act like you are so much better than everyone because your IPH is higher, as if you did anything difficult to achieve that. Anyone can upgrade their cottages and farms to lvl 10 if dumb enough to do so.

I'm neither a gold player or a camper, but was still surprised to see the Arcane Defender in my inventory this afternoon. Btw, there's no shame in leveling your cottages. It's a great way to kick start your economy, especially if you do it early on.

Just noticed I was awarded the unit! when event ended was prob lvl 60 with an IPH of 4900. Being a MW player I knew starting KA I was gonna focus on eco and missions. My mistake in MW was not giving my eco attention. No camper here btw.

Probably much more since it was 18 separate upgrades and I'm assuming you didn't upgrade each lvl instantly it probably totaled ~10 days to upgrade those buildings.

Aha but other buildings that take longer to come to fruit, are at risk of being invading in the event that i am not able to log on at the exact time they are ready to harvest.

No-one is likely to raid my level 10 cottages and if they did, i will be able to harvest them again 5 minutes later.

As a free player i am at risk of invasion from not only players higher level than me with higher att scores, but also those players of any level that invest real money into the game to get the edge over players like myself.

It earned me an arcane defender, so what the hell... I am happy!

I actually am a mathematician and I will say this:
There is merit to what both of you are saying. If you play the game constantly and can collect on the cottages, then there is obviously a good return on your money for them. Likewise, if you invest in the longer payout buildings then you are able to guarantee yourself a more reliable and actual income.
You're IPH can be huge from those cottages, but they amount to zero while you sleep. The silos and such have a much lower IPH, but you earn that money even while you sleep.
Ultimately, how you play this game should influence what you choose to upgrade. Not everything works the same for everyone.

I wouldn't be so opposed to people upgrading their cottages if it didn't have such an inaccurate inflation on your IPH. That is the number people use to sum up their economic efficiency, so while my IPH is just over 4k my income is MUCH greater than these players running around with 6k IPH and lvl 10 cottages. I only upgrade 24 hour buildings now, so while that may only increase my IPH by 50-100, it is 50-100 gold that I am guaranteed to get. You would have to collect from a cottage 288 times in a day to collect the advertised IPH for the day.

They are not going to hand out prizes for being a free player, that would discourage gem purchasing. But you are right the biggest advantage in these games in having played longer. I started playing MW about a month late so I was always behind the top guys and am glad I started KA when I did.

I just noticed the arcane defender in my inventory. That's pretty cool, considering I hardly play KA at all! I won the income event in CC too, but I actually play that game all the time so I was less surprised with that result.
