I'm currently level 65 and have always played with max allies. My stats are 19k/21k, so not too shabby but by no means good. 21k defence seems high enough to protect me from the vast majority of players at this level. However, often on this forum I've read that it is better to not play with max allies but to drop to a lower amount.

I was wondering if someone could explain why this is and if it would benefit me? If it would, what number of allies is best?

I have just refreshed the battle list 8 times and players with around 180 allies are showing, so surely dropping allies would place me at a major disadvantage to players like myself who have refreshed the list enough times?

Your a/d at lvl 65 is ok and as long as you're winning more than you're losing you shouldnt worry about dropping allies too much,

Just make sure to keep them equipped and soldier on.

If you start getting beat up on then maybe, but remember...

A guy like me at lvl 85 can see down to lvl 65 and I can see players with as few as 10 allies. So in essence there really is nowhere to hide.

Countersniper, why is it that higher up levels can see down so far, but myself at level 64 can only see one level below and one level above? Twice I've seen some in the 70's but it seemed to be a fluke as it only lasted long enough for me to check a couple of profiles. And I've refreshed until I'm blue in the face. It seems to just scroll through the same names over and over.

There are not many players as high up as counter sniper so to see as many players on their rivals list as we can, the range available for them to see is widened.

There is one very simple solution for you Sheree - leave some unvaulted gold, and everyone who is anyone will leave their card on your newsfeed :)

Its an absolutely serious suggestion. This is what I do to find the sharks playing in my swimming pool. I'm a real lazy guy - I don't like to look through hundreds of rivals lists. Put out the tuna meat and they will come :)

A moderate defense is better, otherwise they get scared off. You can up your stats after they get on your newsfeed.

Sheree - I have begged Funzio for months and months in CC to let us see higher levels if they can see us below them. But, my pleas were in vain. I don't expect them to change it because it works if you are on top... but not for the little people unless you can defend yourself.

It can be frustrating getting attacked/robbed by a rival who has had many, many, many, many, many levels of experience over you. I ignor them if they beat me. But if I win, I attack them contiguously like a ravenous cannibal & rob them blind until they leave my news feed. I'm nice that way. :D

I get it, seeing a rival at a lower level, especially more then 20 below their level, they assume I'm weaker. I'd think the same thing and would figure, easy target... but I never attack/raid without checking stats first.

The beauty part is those sharks who lose, they always have the best buildings to raid even if I'm not strong enough to attack them.

I dont see how anyone can tell if you have unvaulted gold or not until they attack you, by which time its already been decided that they were going to attack you anyway???

figozz - you're right, they can only guess if you have unvaulted gold by how much you have... say you have 45K, then I might think, "your vault is probably at 33K, must have unvaulted gold!" *attack* = 0 gold because your vaut was really at 55K and all was vaulted.

So, maybe keeping a lot of money vaulted would be good bait, but I don't think it works. I would attack no matter what.

Thanks Maverick, reviewing the Fisk's spreadsheet it says so, but i think it's weird that if him has 100,000 gold unvaulted (sustracting the 330,000) i only got 120 gold each time i hit him.

Hap - there is a bug or glitch going around... you could email tech support & ask them why you only got 120 each time. Getting the same amount during each attack is never right, unless you are getting the max amount. 120 is not max, thank goodness.
