Event: Use Gold or Keep Using Cash?

Below is my tracking for where I'm at right now. Given the length I've been at 9, I'm wondering if I keep going with cash or if I should flip it to gold. I hate to spend gold when I had such a good start on this event, but it would suck to not get 10 after babysitting this almost every hour of the contest so far.

I've only won 2 of the events so I'm hoping this is my chance? Both wins were cash only. The only time I spent gold, I spent over 800 and didn't win.

I dunno though. I was stuck on 8 for 3 days on the last one.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I would say unless you can afford to drop real cash on fake gold...stick with in game cash. Some players have used vaults of gold and still no end prize

+1. If you really want the item, use gold. But it may cost you a lot of gold.

The way I see it is if you can afford to do this EVERY event - than go for it!!!

Unless the final prize equals +1 gold for every successful attack/robbery or something ridiculous to this... why even bother spending gold... it's been shown that you can get the 10th item without spending and so what if you miss out on a few...

so... if you can afford to own EVERY tenth item at WHATEVER it's cost... GO FOR IT!

It depends.

Don't spend gold if your aim is 'to make sure you get the item' as there is a fair chance you won't.

Only spend gold if you do not mind spending it, and not getting the 10th item.

I can't add much to what others have said. You could spend a ton and not get the final item. If you like playing the lottery, go for it. But be advised - and Funzio doesn't say it - that you could be pissing real money down the virtual drain.

First my making the thread you do like the event item and feel the need to purse it.

I have used used gold pursuing the item and still not getting the 10 but I still felt happy.

You may ask why, because I thought if I get it with the gold I have I'll be happy if I don't then I would regret that I didn't try.
Just limit to yourself to amount of gold you can spend on the item and go for it but don't do what some do is buy more and more if they don't get the item with the gold they had spent already finding the 10th.

Also it better to do what your heart desires.

Even if you use gold there is no guarantee for that 10 artifact.

Sometimes it takes a lot of gold and sometimes it doesn't. I spent around 300 gold on this one. And that was starting from my 7th. Only you can decide whats best. The real true benefit of using gold is not getting the "better luck next time." This would allow you to successfully open more cases within the same timeframe assuming you don't use the timer reset.

I've never used gold in this game and I just got the 10th Artifact! Had a huge dry spell before gettting the 8th yesterday. Got the 9th two hours after that. Had another huge dry spell today and out of nowhere I got No. 10. This is my third event getting the 10th. What I'm trying to say is, I don't think gold is necessary.

Think of using gold as a potential win-lose situation.

Don't spend, don't get 10th item: win for you, lose for Conzio.
Don't spend, get 10th item: win for you, lose for Conzio.
Spend, don't get 10th item: lose for you, win for Conzio.
Spend, get 10th item: win for you (win is canceled by a loss because you caved and spent real $), win for Conzio.

I blew the GDP of The Maldives on the Striker Mini Gun and only got 9 so will stick with Gold spending away from the events so will focus on Gold Inventory Construction finally.

I refuse to spend gold, in fact I open just as much doing the free route than cash...personally I have not one a single item but my friend who uses cash method has got 4 of the event items, I always fall short by 1 or 2 items and it's irritating. All I want is just one and I'll be satisfied

No gold. This is only my third event but I'm well beyond expecting any end item, and beyond expecting the #9 item for that matter. And this is my first event in the upper tier, so I'm quite content with enhanced bikes, EU batons, 500 respect, and the occasional lump of cash to make up for the failed opens. And of course the other 3 (at least) gold items I'm getting with cash only.

The minimum gold I spent in an event is 300 gold, and maximum gold is 2500 gold (for the event decrease money upgrade building)

That's interesting. The upgrade decrease prize event was one of the 2 I won with using cash only. 2500 gold? That gives me more to think about, as does the other responses in this thread. I believe I'll keep with cash, but will still be very frustrated getting to 9 in 2 days just to strike out the rest of the event.

Hopefully I will win it. 73 attempted openings and counting...
