Attack and defence not increasing

I was hoping someone could help- I keep trying io increase my attack and defence numbers, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've got 88 alliance members, so not sure if that has something to do with it. But, for example, last night I added about 1,000,000 worth of units, and my attack and defence only went up about 10 each. Can someone let me know why this is happening? Or, if it shouldn't be happening, what I need to do to fix it.

because you need to buy better quality units, instead of buying low quality units.

for example you can bring 88x4 units to battle well if you buy units that are worst or equal to the one you are using it won't change your stat. just buy better units and you will see your stats increase

you have 88 allies, if you are at least lvl 22, then you will bring all your allies to battle.

each ally brings 4 units to battle. this means you bring 352 units to battle. the fight computer selects your 352 units with the highest attack when you attack or raid, and selects your 352 best units when you are fending off someone. only these 352 units count toward your atk and def stat.
