For the quest "What Strange Beasts", i've killed average 40 monsters, and the basilisk doesn't appear in the sea of flames.
Another Bug ?

Not for me, it popped right at start when I entered the map first time.

It's ok. I had not updated. Apparently this quest only works with the latest version of the game

Have killed now +40 monsters and he still doesn't show. Bug?

That's why it is called a rare quest.

Am on this quest now and it took about 50 kills before it popped up for me.

I unistalled and reinstalled then it was there.

Update: took me also about 50 kills before it popped up. Let's hope it doesn't take another 100 kills for the next 'rare' quest.

I have done this at least 15 times now and it still has not spawned. Has anyone else had this much trouble getting a monster to spawn using this method?

uninstall and reinstall always worked for me.
