So how many people run their building up to level 10? Do you get distracted by the newer, better buildings as you level up, or do you hang on and level them to ten?

How many lvl 10's do you have?

I have 9: 2 Pawn Shops, 2 Laundromats, 2 Italian Restaurants, 2 Houses, 1 Electronics Store - if Only My lofts were at 10.

Any building I should have had to 10 are sold but I do have 1 and it's the house. I suspect my next level 10 building will be the NC if I play that long.

Solid!

Highest I have is a nine and don't foresee any 10's in the very near future due to sheer time, however, I'm proud of the nine (Ice Cream) :D

Level 10 MTx2, second highest level Lofts Level 8 x2. Reason for that it was cheapest and longest upgrades for me while I'm saving for something big.

Exactly. That is why I have the 10's I have. They are the cheap upgrades I pursued while saving for more expensive ones.

2 x LM's, 2 x's Ice Cream, 2x's Italians, 1 x's Souvenir...These were my mid-level cheap long upgrades...Next one to level 10 will probably be my L9 MT, but no plans for it in the near future

The only buildings I have at level 10 are my two Laundromats.

I completely screwed up building an kind of a respectable economy when I started out, and the first corrective measure I took was taking both LMs to level 10. Possibly the best move I ever made in CC.

This may sound weird but on my Michael account I have both my anchor import buildings at 7 and will be moving them towards 10... They don't cost a lot to upgrade and are timely enough to save for the 2nd building... I mean, they make a lot! Why not? I also love to do any of the small buildings... Cheap, time savers for saving on big expenditures...

Buuuuuuuuut No wrong way to play.

FYI - I just love 24 and 48 hour collections!

2x gun shop, 1x LM, 2x house, 1x BB court, 1x ice-cream shop, 1x pawn shop, 1x pizza palor, 1x tattoo

In general I feel like my economy (over 100K) is really screwed up as I didn't approach it initially with any real thought. Right now saving up for the NC and making upgrades to cheap properties that have quicker turn around.

there was thread on this before and i liked it. as for me
2 ice creams
1 movie theater
2 pawn shops
2 house
1 pizza parlour
1 dominican (in progress now from 9 to 10)

after dominican the other pizza(currently at 8) and then gas stations
anything after that is a toss up fish stores or meat factory

im not in a rush to make income since robbing is my main source cash

Level 10 LM's, Ice Cream Shoppes, and Italian Restaurants. Next to be at L10 will most likely be my Houses as I try to save for a NC.

Your income would be a lot higher if you weren't doing this. You're wasting a lot of time upgrading these crappy buildings to 10, when you could be upgrading buildings that actually count for a damn. Focus on upgrading the better buildings the game has to offer first. Without going into forulas and math i'll offer you a firm guarantee that you will be better off in the long term by following these words

Same here. Its the best strategy without question.

Like others, I boosted mine while saving for expansions and night clubs.

2 laundromats
2 gun stores
2 ice creams
2 houses
1 techno club
1 basketball court

I'm taking my warehouses from 9 to 10 mainly because I want them earning the most per square since they take up a lot of room.

Oh, and I actually boosted a machine gun turret to level 9 for that pointless mission, I don't believe I'll go to level 10 on it unless we learn that defense upgrades help point-for-point in the way we'd expect them.

My plan is to get my cheap gold buildings to ten (I'm still low lvl)

I have lvl10 LM
Basketball courts are at 9, will be ten in a week hopefully. Then my icecream shops will go to ten - then houses and italian rest...

that's my long term lvl10 plan :D

You don't want to level up any building substantial more than the rest unless you have to for a goal. If you fall in love with upgrading one or two buildings, you're just going to create a robbery target.

Ok, but what about the time you camp the money for, let's say, Loft 5 to 6 with 100k/h, which if you collect twice a day will give about 1.5M a day. You need a week to get the money. Why not upgrade houses, t-shirt stands, gun shops? This may cost you lousy ~50k and you don't loose the time. That's my way. I have on 10lvl:
2x Laudromat
2x House
1 Ice Cream Shop
1x t-shirt stand, 2nd in progress

And about the Nightclub - I am going to buy it, of course, but... After I get my Lofts to 10 :) Not sooner. I'm not in a hurry, 55 lvl and $85k/h at the moment.

Always worth levelling some cheap buildings to 10 if your definitely planning on keeping them in the future.
Best way to save for more expensive upgrades.

Having level 10 laundromats is like having 50' male genitalia.

Sure, it looks impressive, and has enormous stats.....

But you sure as hell are not going to be using it.

Not disagreeing. My goal in the game has to always have a building being constructed, a building being upgraded, and an expansion underway (usually based on need). This strategy has always left me broke, leaving me with times I have had to purchase a cheap long upgrade. Hence the cheaper buildings hit 10 before my bigger ones, which get replaced in the upgrade cycle with a better building.

I'm not unhappy with my economy. I figure I am in top 5% based on peers.
