So according my version or the money buildings spreadsheet (it isn't the newest, but it isn't that old either) a Pirate Tavern will get you $14 million if sold. In my game I only got 7 million, is this somewhat new or am I missing something or what?

No, it's worth $14M, so you get half that value ($7M) when you sell it.

No, that's my faux pas, I knew that a building is only worth half what the spreadsheet says. I simply forgot that fact and got my hopes up.
