Getting allies from boxes but game says I'm at my limit!

I keep my allies at their maximum for the level that I'm at and the game won't let me add any extra but on the last two opens guess what I got allies! Grrrr this is a huge waste of gold for me especially when the game tells me I can't have more!

Have sent an in game ticket but I wish Funzio would get rid of allies as loot in events.

are you at the max level? I know it will add allies in the background that still counts towards quests etc. but as you level up, you will automatically gain 5 more allies as long as you have them. (you probably already knew this, I'm new myself, but thought I would take a stab at answering anyway)

+1 I also keep track of my ally count when I exceed level max by looking at the ally quest which keeps track of your real ally count.
