CC Mark and L Fizzle: I have a number of times voiced my concern that events would ruin the enjoyment I have been deriving from KA, and the first event is thus far proving far more frustrating than I had feared. I know it is only relative early days yet in this on-going KA event, but following are some issues I hope Funzio will rectify in future events:

1) Myself and quite a few others did not get notification of the on-going KA event. In my case at least, unlike some others, this did not appear to be because I needed to get an update - I had updated recently and there was no new update waiting for me in the App store. It took a few re-installs before the event showed up - and this was without the event pop-up, I just had the inventory icon appear in the lower-left side of my screen (the pop-up did appear on a subsequent re-open of the game). You can imagine that all this is pretty frustrating.

2) In the mid-20 level range (or at least in my experience), box drop rates are ridiculously low compared to MW. I have expanded at least a couple of thousand energy points to obtain just four rune boxes. In desperation, I have launched dozens of PVP attacks and raids, sacrificing over 20 siege towers for zero reward (i.e. no boxes).

3) To add insult to injury, one of my four boxes just yielded a a "Wild Man" with 6/4 stats. The only weaker units in my inventory are those I purchased in fulfillment of the game's goals. Relatively speaking, the rewards in MW events are better (the only exception being the grunt reward).

4) Relative to income (compared to MW), the price of using the middle option to open the boxes (I can't recall the figure - it might have been 690 gold) is quite expensive.

5) Slightly off tangent, opponents are now displaying those "crossed swords" bubble things even if they can't be attacked - or least, when I attack them, I get a message saying they are "too weak to be attacked". Sometimes, this message is displayed before the fight sequence; other times, I see what I reckon is the full fight sequence, which is frustrating in that it wastes time.

6) Last but not least, as I recommended for MW events, please start these things on weekends! Weekday starts are really frustrating for me as I have to work and somehow find time to build my item inventory.

Well, at least I can see its not me having problems to find the boxes. I totally agree with your points and hope some of them can be addressed in the future.

I haven't noticed any issues getting boxes, but I am level 58 so as you said it may just be difficult in the lower levels. I definitely agree with your 4th point. The price relative to MW does seem pretty steep, but then I don't see this changing any time soon as Funzio has also upped the cost of opening with gems.

To be honest I won't bother about this event anymore. I levelled once and nothing so I stick to my game strategy. Good lucky you all.

Point 4 is really a valid point. I'm level 47 and need to pay about 1150 gold for the middle option.

If you take into account the losses you suffer to get rune boxes and then on top need to pay 1150 an hour to be able to open (or at least give it a try), then a smart player quickly turns to the free option. As that option is more a waste of time then a usefull option, players will just start ignoring such events.

I don't speak yet about the ridicuous price for having a 100% certain open... 20 gems.

Making money is allowed, raping ppl has an averse effect. Never heard off profit maximalisation curves? I can assure you (Funzio) are not on the right curve :)

I'm not sure what your IPH is, but if you can't afford 1 or 2k an hour at your level then you need to upgrade your money buildings -- in particular your bazaar or merchant caravan. Or at least kill some more monsters.

Seriously though, its a free game that runs on an iphone. You either A. have way to much time on your hands, or B. have a gaming addiction.

In the case of B. I have posted a link below of a Dr Phil episode of him helping a lady who was addicted to farmville. (that is a therapy show in the United States in case you didnt know).

If you aren't having fun, quit playing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwgQu8vTqfc

I thought in comparison to MW event the middle option cost was fairly cheap.

Think you guys need to up your economy abit if having hard time affording it.

Well personally I don't know of mw or cc. So I have nothing to compare to. But I like the event. It's no different than just playing but it gives you a little extra. If you choose to free open, then you lose nothing but could possibly gain something. I don't know what the big stink is about. I'm glad they did the event. I enjoy it and I just play normal but every hour I see if I get a treasure. How is that something to complain about? Maybe the mw events y'all talk about spoiled y'all and now your expectations are for the mw standards. This may be same company but it's a different game. Enjoy the game for what it's worth. A game to pass time. Have fun playing and good luck.

Agreed. Just enjoy the game and don't take it so seriously.

Actually, if you read my post properly, you will find you have it completely the other way round. My frustration stems from lack of time and other real-life commitments preventing me (and at least some other players who actually have 9-to-5 jobs - or 7am-7pm in my case) playing KA optimally given the way Funzio sets up its tournaments.

I have nothing against Events per se, just the way that Funzio starts them (aside from MW Event 2, my first one) on weekdays plus the poor design of the on-going first KA.

Dunno about you, but I'm pretty high-income by my level's standards (and I'm talking real effective income from stuff like high-level silos - not simply high IPH from stuff like cottages). In fact, I wonder if your effective MW income actually might not be that high?

Anyway, although I've used MW as a comparison, P4TR1C14N has hit the nail on the head imho. When I play KA, I try to do cost-benefit analyses as to my strategies and choices (although I sometimes yield to impulse and hammer unwary gem players who visit me, for fun). Based on the rewards so far versus the lack of rune boxes and sacrifices made obtaining them, I'd maintain that the middle option cost is too high.

7) This is actually about the 3-day tourney (http://www.funzio.com/forum/showthre...som-Tournament) - as Freekizh pointed out, the objective is not clear! Are we really expected to be upgrading our cottages, farms and bazaars to maximise IPH???
