How come yours only cost 1600? Wtf? I thought opens depended upon your level, and I'm level 51 and I know your level is higher than mine bud.

IMHO, I think it depends on the level along with what gem you are on. For some reason, I thought it was 1200 for the first open. *shrug*

Thanks cleaned it out now. In the past it only depended on your level, and not how many gems you have.

Maybe it's income based now? Weird.

Mine are 1450 with an IPH of 4336. Does that have any correlation with your IPH v cost?

I have got an Earth Mage and an extra Ally - each at 1925 gold for each attempt - pretty lousy returns considering...
My several free tries brought nothing, but I have got plenty of rune boxes and some 5 more days to try...All the other tries will be free though...

Here is an idea - there might be ppl out there looking for the boxes and ready to pay jewels for them...and here I am sitting on a pile of boxes...Could there be an exchange arranged somehow?

Snap out of it bud! Youre all damn sulky lol. You know new maps will get you some rogue weapons soon, or when the event finishes you'll get more loot (hopefully). Some maps are heavy on certain classes of weapons that's all.

I figured I would be the only one saying that the winning gift for me today sense midnight has been Alies. Last 4 boxes have been 1 sorry and 3 allies. I love it, maybe funzio will have a trade in your grunt allies for something usefull event!!!!! Yesturday was wild men running wild , daybefore was hero points and money (I want that day back) and my first day was 7 gems and a ton of sorries.

Same here. I'm sure for at least a few days after this I'll wake up in the middle of the night and immediately grab my iPad and try to open a rune box. Then when I finally get back to a normal sleep pattern, another event will start.

Hey guys, I know this might seem like a weird post, but oh well. I'm a free player and was pretty stoked about the rune box thing as a chance to get some pretty awesome units. I've been trying to keep my level low so I can upgrade gold producing buildings so I can just outright buy the best weapons without doing much farming. I play a lot of multiplayer games somewhat competitively, so this is just a fun diversion from time to time on my phone. Anyway, I was pretty disheartened at this thread since it made me feel like I was never going to get 10 rare gems. I got 9 a couple days ago, and after having gone up 9 levels in the past week just to farm boxes, only get to tons more allies (which makes the game harder, as you have to buy more units/armor/weapons) I was getting pretty frustrated. And now, a few hours before it ends, I got my 10th. I haven't paid any money for any normal gems or keys or whatever to do, so I decided I'd make an account and pop in here saying that it's possible. Needless to say, I'm pretty pleased. Best of luck to you all :)

I got to 8 gems after using around 30 rune boxes. Unfortunately, the next 45 rune boxes got me nothing. Pretty annoying. Basically, spent around 75,000 gold for three upgraded units.
