Rivals name Different from Hood Name

I've recently come across a few players whose name on the rival list is not the same as the one on their hood, is this because support have changes their name?

In one case the player appeared on my rivals list with their correct (hood) name and also with a different name that took me to the same hood - lots of loot but too much defence :(

Anybody else noticed this?

EDIT: Now there are three names on my rivals list that all go to the same hood - strange things are afoot....
