This weekend while searching my rivals I was noticing rivals with higher ranks than me but with fewer battles, I have 2k more battles and 4-5k less losses but they are ranked Captain?? How does that happen? You lose bp's when you lose battles, so 4-5k more losses and and 2k less battles and higher rank just doesn't make sense?

The Ranking didn't start off with zero stats. If for example you had 5k won fights when this ranking system started, and now have 7k won fights, you may have the same rank as someone with only 2k won fights now, provided he had 0 won fights when the ranking system started

Yes like Cheiz said, he may have done more attacks than you since it started. You get more BP attacking people with level/stats closer to your own. Depends on who you attack. Your avg BP per attack might be 80 and his 120. It adds up, so does any losses to BP in attacks. Another thing is to try to maximize your wins. People often go for people returning the most BP, but don't think about losses.
10 wins @ 80 => 800BP
7wins/3 losses @120 => Win 7X120=840 /Loss 3X60=180
840-180=660BP

Cheaper sure bet is the way to go sometimes. If you attack and lose more than once, move on to a better target to maximize your return.

To add to what maverick correctly said, I am at level 162 and see from level 113 upwards and the minimum BP I get is 114 and average 130. It is is correlated to the strength or the opponent as said and a good indicator is the rank of the player. A major in average gives me 160 to 250 BP but the casualties are not worth it sometimes.

i was getting really nervous.. didnt pvp until the rankings came out, and i was level 22, now through the event and rankings, pvp is very viable.. but i was only getting 19-29 BP per victory.. thinking it was going to take years to reach colonel or general or whatever. lol. good to hear that the BPs pick up w/ level!
