OK, I trying to use the Maps and killing monsters / doing quests as my only method of adding armour and weapons so that I can use my Gold on buildings / vaults / units etc.

However, I am really struggling to find weapons, I only ever drop Armour.

I've tried using the Monster Drop sheet on the KA spreadsheet which is listed in various posts and I have been concentrating on attacking those Monsters which are listed as dropping weapons only but I still only get Armour.

Are there any hints, tips or tricks to getting weapons?

Try using different maps and attacking different monsters. I find the spreadsheet is a little off and started composing my own but that went in the wash quickly. It was getting too time consuming and serious. It took me 3 lvls to finally get a better hero weapon and it wasn't one I farmed off the sheet. The drop rates are different for every player so you can't go by that either. Good luck to you.

Cheers mate. I had been pretty much keeping my Armour and Weapons totals in synch and every time I added another 3 of each I added an extra ally but now I have more than 20 Armour more than Weapons. Frustrating. Tempted to spend gold on weapons but then think what I could build or upgrade instead and so I'm holding out!

For the datasheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aj9pi1nr5A99dFF0UWZKZWxzSGVyZkh5ekhnUnh0e lE) we got the unit, equipment and building data directly from the Games files so they are correct.
The only things that can be wrong with those data are the prices because some players get discounts on some of it.
And the datasheet by bee a day behind then Funzio updates the game with new contains.

Data about Loots and land expansion comes from players experiences so that data are no more accurate than the players that type it in.

You can help making the loot data more accurate by adding the data from your loot experiences.
The datasheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aj9pi1nr5A99dFF0UWZKZWxzSGVyZkh5ekhnUnh0e lE) is a community document. We are all helping making it better.
