Is there any way to buy gold without using my iTunes account because I have some money on my PayPal I would use but iTunes doesn't work with PayPal

No we cannot.
I asked supports a while back ago for the same reason, (money in paypal)
they told me that Itunes do not allow them to do so, it seems that Itunes gets a % on sales

Is there some retailer that you can buy an iTunes gift card from and pay with PayPal? I know best buy accepts PayPal for payment online so you could probably pick it up in store if you are near one.

You can pick up itunes cards and pay with paypal a lot of places. There are some online that as soon as you pay email you the itunes card number so it's pretty much instant instead of getting it in the mail.
