Is the Hardened Marine worth getting?

Hehe, I had some valor saved when I saw this unit.
When i unlock it, I dump it all on the bugger. Did about 30-50 battles, although I had not lose one yet, my GIGN, SF, SH had all taken hits. Next upgrade, infantry boost!

Same here, got 20 of those Marines right away and zero casualties so far. Seems decent investment as Genetics Lab is quick and cheap to upgrade, but lots of people have already tons of Super Hornets and are playing Russia, so to them it's likely more worthty just buy more SH's.

Bought mine three mates.

Lost one after 143 Attacks, 110 Raids.
Lost second after another 52 Attacks and 81 Raids.
Completed another 216 Attacks and 242 Raids since, still have the other two.

Total for two losses comes to 411 attacks and 433 raids so overall looks pretty good.

Just had a series of Valor opens from Sea Crates so bought six SH and two SF.

Last twenty attacks have cost six SH and two SF........:mad:

Should have doen this calculation first I think.......:(

Was at level 74 when hit lieutenant and have just gone into level 77.

Figure I should still be in this level when I get to Captain.

Not as much as I would have guessed. Your average bp must be a lot higher than Lvl 56 (40-55).

Eh buddy, the Venal Fighter casualty rates are back to normal again (or close to it). Thought you'd like to know. Almost gave up after I lost every one of them, but Thunder Child mentioned them living a bit longer these days-he's right!

On second thought - I was looking at that new Valor Chopper - it costs 600 Valor and only has 1 more attack point than the Super Hornet that cost almost half as much at 350 points. I was hoping that maybe the chopper had a "Very Low" casualty rate which would have totally made it worth it - but nope - it has a "Low" CR just like the SH.

So - even though the defense stat is higher, for my 35k valor, I can get 100 Super Hornets. The total Raw attack added 3600 - but the last time I bought a Super Hornet my Attack went up 80 points - so that would translate to an additional 8000 attack

At 600 VP - I can only get HALF of that with the new Valor Chopper :/

The only way its worth it is if its truely a low casualty item. In my last 3 fights I lost this exactly:
fight 1 - 1 Super Hornet
fight 2 - 2 super Hornets
fight 3 - 1 Stealth Frigate

no those are not typos. yes those were consecutive fights against someone who's defence was <8000 and my attack over 28000. Seriously am considering putting in a ticket. this is outragous.

Yes it's really going to depend on loss rates. So far lossing stupid numbers of hornets so much that I consider them high cost meat shields. Have lost 1 of 10 hardened marines. I do like the stats of the new ground unit.

I'd have to agree, it would make sense, funzio has introducing a new set of valor units, they HAVE changed the death rates of the older valor units, of that I'm 110% sure. Losing far more SH and SF than I did.

Looks like HM now has the old death rate of SH and SF.

HMs are not looking good, I piled up 100 and tested their casualty, lost 3 already in recent a hundred battles. While my 100 stealth frigate still very healthy out there. China still sucks.

IMO,HMs are not recommended for piling up, get them below 50 would be a wise move.
will see how good the next rank's ground unit is.:(

thats interesting. i have 300 stealth frigates and i lost about 6 today in only 40 fights.

I lost 3 HM now... also after 100+ battles. Before that I was loosing more SF & SH.
The way I look at it, the valor units are just taking turns.

As usual, no discernable pattern! Did heaps of battles yesterday and didn't lose a single SH and only one SF.

Too late on the HM, though, he and 99 of his mates are already in the trenches!

HM update.
Just bought the four to see how they would go.
Lost number one after 143 Attacks, 110 Raids
Lost number 2 after 195 Attacks, 191 Raids
Just lost the third as I went to Captain after 513 Attacks, 571 Raids.

So 1084 interactions for a cost of 1200 Valor.

Would have lost at least 30 SH over same period but do have a lot more of them (though as soon as I go above 50 they seem to drop like flies till get back to 50.

Now bought four of the Expert Attack Drones as well to do a similat test but might have to bump those numbers up a bit cause I currently have a problem child to deal with......:rolleyes:
