Is there a guide somewhere that I'm not seeing on what units to buy, how many, and when (what level etc.) to maximize Attack and Defense?

Rocker please read the PvP guide thread just posted today, and ask your questions there. Try to avoid starting a new thread for every query if you can search for a good thread. Cheers.

It all depends on your preference of units. There is no guide as of now, but you can do the research on your own by visiting the Data Sheet in my guide. Under the units tab I believe you can see the costs, casualty rates, and what level of each building, each unit is unlocked.

Amusing thread.

It seems to be a preference based thing. I personally prefer machine units right now. Zeppelins and catapults make up the majority of my army. As for beginner stuff and cost efficiency most people aim for Battering Rams for attack @ 110g each and illusionist for defense @ 150g each.

I don't believe there is a clear cut path though sorry.

At the extremely tacky risk of pimping my own guide, I cover a lot of this in detail in it:

Lol - superdad is too modest. His guide, and that whole thread, is fantastic.

Well, if you want the very best then your best bet is probably to camp like hell while you are at lv 3 upgrading your infantry building to max, then spew out the best units in attack and defense from this, then race to lv 16 or whenever you get the blacksmith, camp and upgrade to 10, then lv 20, get the colosseum, camp until its reached ten, buy all its best units, then level up your machine building, etc etc etc.

seems rather boringly formulaic way to play the game for anyone without some serious OCD case.
