My attack won't increase no matter how many units I buy

I'm wondering if there is a limit of a certain type of unit that you buy. I'm level 12 right now with 2898 attack and 2244 defense

My main army is composed of 191 Catapults, but each time I buy another, my attack doesn't increase at all and my defense increases very minimally.

Is there a unit cap? Do buildings or upgrades increase this cap?

Just wondering, it just seems that buying any more units wouldn't do anything. I even bought a few ballistas and it only increased my defense by 4 and attack by 0.

How many allies do you have?

The reason i ask is because you're limited only by that. You get 3 units per 1 ally. So if you have 20 allies 60 units. So you might be maxed on how much you can improve your attack because you're unit capped.

Rocker - congrats on your first post. Your max allies for level 12 is 12 x 5 =60, which allows only 60 x 3 =180 units. You have 191 catapults so....

That makes sense, The thing that made me question it is i saw another lvl 12 that 3000 defense and 4000 attack and he had several stacks of 180 units
