What things affect drop rates? Seems like they change.

Has anyone noticed a change in drop rates over the last weeks? Seems like monsters that used to drop near 50% now are far, far less. Farming much harder for me now, but unclear what might have changed.

Loot drop has always been random, there is no known way to optimize the drop rate.
