Now, obviously I know what the spreadsheets all say.. and I've read posts about gold buildings plenty of times. I want some real opinions this time on the subject of Anchor Imports. I'm not a gold player, but have saved up quite a bit in Tapjoy gold. I hit level 43 today, so now the AI has opened up.. it's the first of the top gold buildings.

What do you guys think?? Is it worth it? My plan was Rock Cafe's, Pirates, and GC's. I'm a crawler, so by the time I get to each of those at the rate I'm going, I'll have enough to get two of each.
I could really use the extra income though... hmmm...

I was planning on buying them, too. Would like to know their opinions as well

White frog, I know I don't constitute as a veteran since we've been playing for roughly the same period of time, but I'm going to cast my vote anyway. Anchor Imports is a definite no. It's expensive and in your case, isn't going to do much for you compared to later buildings. I would very much recommend holding out for later buildings. Two Wedding Chapels cost 75g less than one Anchor Imports and do far more. Need proof? See this:

I was kind of crawling till lvl 100 and skipped Anchor Imports. The first gold building were the Rock Cafes and those were true game changers imho. So I vote to not waste gold on AI unless you are willing to purchase gold later on.

I passed on the AI and went with the Wedding Chapels for the reason Nicholost stated, and later got the RCs, PTs, and GCs. I have other gold buildings but they're nothing special.

Basketball Courts, yes, but if it's between Anchor Imports and Techno Clubs, go AI, sadly. I still think it'll be worth it to hold out for the later gold buildings.

Nicholost and Dorian, White Frog (like myself when I'm his level) will be crawling levels. lvl 87 for Wedding Chapels seems like a long time to me....

I know that the spreadsheets say otherwise, but I like my AI buildings. They were the 1st real gold buildings I had, and collection times were easier to use that wedding chapels. I still have em, and I'm keeping em.

Well all formulas and spreadsheets are pretty much useless when it comes to gold buildings and the same is true for advice. Gold is aquired by an external ressource (hard cash) and the therefore the value is of a highly individual nature.

100 gold will have completely different value to different players. If you are willing to spend cash later on or you feel confident to tapjoy enough to afford RC, PT and GC, get the AI now (or any gold building for that matter). If neither applies to you, hold back untill you unlock the true gems.

That might be something to consider. That's one of the things that makes crawling levels tough to do. You really want to get to those good gold buildings sooner than later.

I'm by no means a veteran but I skipped the AI based on advice and would certainly say 2 wedding chapels are better - just got mine recently.
Although I did buy a Church - some said not to.......I like it

I have enough gold for 2 rock cafes which is next on my list and then probably Stripper Club ( I call it as I see it ) - and maybe pirates

true. thats the only thing that keeps me thinking. but then again, they're are so many good cash buildings to keep upgrading in the mean time, even at lvl 9. (mafia buildings and my Empires)

Anchor Import all day long I brought 2 and they have reasonable upgrade price and a quick upgrade completion.

Don't listen to people knocking them, in my opinion the palm hotel in a con at 500gold when your nearing the time the game gets boring and plus making fodder for the super power player to rob.

Hi white frog, :)
As long as theres an Econ thread, I can't help myself to jump out, lol.
First of all, have you gotten all two of the Icecream, chicken, smoke and basketball court?
That's four best deal small gold bombs. You have to get them all no matter what your plan is.

Second, The decision of costy gold building choose need to combine with your current income level and your level up speed.
If you are something like 30k+ income. All the early costy gold building should be avoided. Because their income provide percentage becomes marginal,so it's absolutely not worth the gold and won't function as a game "changer"
If you are fast leveling player, save the gold for wedding chapel and the three gold bosses R,P,G.

Since now you can afford a techno club and play slow, my suggestion would be. Save them up for two churches, which will be unlocked not too far. But if your income is medioka right now, AIs are very nice boosts.

Also, the point of low level camping is to get nightclub with the minimum risk, otherwise there are lots of better resources at higher level.

EXACTLY! i have never used my bank once yet, and won't need to for quite some time.

111m x 10% = 111.5m x .1 = 11.15m

I will save 11.15m alone on upgrading ONE NC from 2 --> 3.

Dreno I've noticed you are not good at making mathematical formulas

wouldn't been easier

(111m / 100) x 10 = 11.1
How did you come up with 11.15m

Just going off of White Frogs spreadsheet. Says $111,556,000 to upgrade a Night Club from 2 to 3.
Multiplied that by 10% (.1) to get 11.15. All you do is move the decimal over one. That seems pretty dam easy to me.

Does that make me dumb at math?

Yeah.. here's the thing, though (and something else to get you thinking, Dreno)... You know that real estate is value driven enough that I take it into consideration. The above list doesn't consider how much of your precious commodity (squares) the buildings are using. When you apply it, look at this list (income per hour/squares/gold spent):

Pirate 94.697
Gentlemans Club 91.667
Rock Cafe 37.415
Palm Hotel 36.99
Smoke Shop 34.375

Ice Cream 18.56

Ok first never even ever thought you was dumb at maths.
Second didn't realised the upgrade was 111.556m otherwise the answer you gave is defo correct, or being ever more precise it should be 11.16 to 2 decimal point.

thought that was what you meant. So, in conclusion, is it 111.6 or is it actually closer to what you said "110m"

My point of view... hold out for rock cafe's,

I would definitely miss out the Pirate Taverns if I were you. I find them hard to collect on time. They serve as an invitation to get your hood robbed. This is a big negative if you ever plan on defence explosives.

I'm in two minds whether to sell them now or not.

If you noticed initally I wrote $110m divided to 100 then times it to 10 giving me $11 which was a mistake which I edited because you wrote $111m giving a total of $11.1m

So the correct answer you save, by successfully no banking and saving the $111.556m without being successfully attacked you will save $11,155,600.

Anyway good luck with you personal goal.
How is your boss finding the game so far.

thanks, uhm... idk. haven't seen him since. I didnt work yesterday and go in at 5:30 today (3:39 right now) I doubt i'll see him today. He tends to be there during the day and when myself or this one another coworker gets to work at 4, he leaves b/c we take care of the store the rest of the night. (he tends to have a lot of drama employees that work day crew, thank god i work nights) since i work at 530, he should be gone by then

Jesus Christ,
sushi bar, carousel, gaming parlor, gingerbread, All on the top list... This list will screw you up,mate.

They initially cost less gold, but it doesn't mean that you will be glad to get them. Their upgrade potential is poor as ****
While deciding purchase gold buildings, the first thing is to check its IpH/ROI according to its cash value. Keep this in mind.

If a building is simply poor for its quality, no matter how cheap it is(even it costs no gold like cash buildings),we will never get it and waste time and money upgrading, right?

So please don't sort by its initial gold cost. Because the level unlock factor makes it very unfair to compare this way.
The relative IpH at the time that building is unlocked is the key.

Im no veteran either but i got WC as soon as i could which helped alil, didnt bother with AIs as they're a 48hr collect! The big game changer was GCs RCs n PTs  soon as u hav them you'll c the money rolling in  went fri
$40k p/h to $250k p/h. Best upgrades i reckon is RCs both of mine r lvl3 thts just my opinion 

Sorry, you both were wrong, in order to save $111.556m in the bank. You need to deposit $123.951m
$123.951m - 12.395m = $111.556m

So you saved 10% bank fee of $12.395m
