Does it matter where you place your defensive buildings? Do you have to place it anywhere special to gain its defense or anywhere on your hood is fine?

In CC it doesnt matter. If you play MW or KA it does matter.

Well i was told most defensive buildings at start ain't good but to wait until you can get machine gun turret at level 19 and other one at level 47.

I can't tell the difference. It may affect your attacking ability only when you are slightly stronger.

I assume it increase your defence stats ? by half every upgrade

You will never have enough defense. That's just the way it is.

I have 128K def (with 183 def skill points) and someone with 70K attack was still able to rob me when my building was syncing. Just accept that all of your item's defense are reduced by a half and that you will be robbed if you are not picking up immediately. No need to get ulcers or stress.

They're all talking about HL which is entirely different from where we are. :)

At level 22 with 57 mafia I have 1300 def and I haven't been broken (by attack or rob) in a very long time. I've seen 1 person in my rivals list who should be able to break me with an attack and several who should be able to break me with a rob in the last week or so.

Depending on how many mafia you have 850 might be a bit low. I'd suggest slowing down on money buildings/expos and use a spreadsheet to figure out which equipment you can buy to optimize def increase/$ spent.
