These constant and predictive events/gold sales tells me two things:

1. The event/gold spigot is running low and they're getting anxious/desperate
2. Eventually, these predictive sales will make overall gold buying go down as everyone will wait until sales occur and only buy gold during sales.

In-turn, their desperation will exacerbate an already poor situation.

I think you have it backwards. MW is often in top 10 for revenue. I think they are earning enough to have more sales to keep revenue high.
