It's always hard to get the first crate, especially PvP since nobody's holding stock. It should be easier by doing a decent XP map job though to start off. It's why peeps get cross after unloading all their energy only to find a new event has started and they wished they'd waited!

I start very well as well. With 7 tries and 7 fails.

My first 7 paintings were a breeze to get. Only had to open 9 crates to get them. All gold opens.

Crate #25 opened to reveal a credit card....??? contacted funzio with a ticket on that one.

Any cash option I've used has resulted in a sorry and failed to open a crate. That's been my awesome adventure so far.

Update: 10th painting received gold open, with 1 day left.

I opened a total of #133 crates. Gobs o gold spent and weird credit card blip received during event. Shrug. On to the next grand adventure that's presented.

I have a new event hypothesis. Those who get event currency on the first open attempt will end up "winning" the end item. Anyone who gets any other loot or a fail to open on the first attempt - no end item.

I believe I've gotten a painting/diamond/emerald/whatever on my first attempt every single time and I'm 0 for 5. So far in this event I've only made 3 attempts, but I'm 3 for 3. For some reason I'm finding it much more difficult to get crates, but so far I have a 100% open rate. I'll gladly take less crates, but more opens. I really do wonder if there's something to the theory that having less crates or whatever on hand means a better chance of getting something good. Like I said, I've always opened the first one and it was only after I started getting many of them that the open rate went way down. This I've only had 1 available each time I've made an attempt but I've gotten a painting all 3 times.

I believe it's worse than 60% when you analyse over a greater number of attempts...40% I think is the expected average. So, you're doing quite well so far!

In my case, it's kinda opposite. Out of 18 attempts I got 2 bikes, 2 sledgehammer and 1 EU baton, I think that's considers to be quite a lot of loot drops. (all from cash option).

8 now. Proved my theory on groggy opens having a higher success rate. Alarmed all night, and got 6,7,8 all in a row 3, 4, and 5 oclock!

Unfortunately, groggy banking does not work as well. I emptied my entire bank account before my 1st casino finished the other day and I had to spend it on an unintended upgrade screwing up back to back Bellagios!

Stuck on 6 crates now, that's been over 12 hours, these crates are hard to come by, then when you get one some git steals it, that's the game I suppose, however i have spent well over 2500 energy points doing jobs to get crates with no luck! I'm not very pleased with my results so far either. I broke my hand and can't work or play, so I find myself opening CC a lot more often. And I find myself looking at an empty energy bar a lot more often. It's very boring.

Five. Using the medium chance option I am only getting a 33% open rate this event, and for the last three events I had a 50% open rate or better.

My open rate so far is as poor for this event as it was for the Diamond Sig and Emerald Burner events, and I didn't win either of those.

Maybe I should have just shut up about getting a Bank Buster 3 days before the event ended :(

By day 2 in all events I was at 6 plus. I have two on this event so far, since I never got 10 before I'm kind off upset so far.

I spent $20 in gold and started using it at the beginning. I've got 8 paintings with only the $20 in gold. Four or five cash attempts to get #9. With as much time as there is left, I'm just going to keep attempting to get #10 with cash. This event has much more kind to me so far than any other event, although this is the first time I've really attempted to get the 10th item or spent any gold on these events since the first one. I found that using gold from the beginning was much more effective than starting to when you get towards the end like I did in the first event. However, this could just be luck.

I used AMG strategy and it worked well, got my item early. I couldn't resist few resets so I used a bit more gold 600 in total. Good value anyway.

BAM! Just got painting #10. Was losing faith took over 50 cases btwn 9 and 10.

I used gold to open every case to get 100% open success.

Spent 1500+ gold in last 2 days getting there. Impatience and lots of resets.

Finally got it and this was first event for me. So I am super stoked!!!

That's a great result! On energy, yeah I reckon so...I'm at 2500 and woke up to a full charge this morning after 8.5 hours...ideally you want to be not quite full to maximise the benefit.

I'm wondering whether the odds (finally) have been lowered on getting 9 & 10...as it seems quite a few folk are getting a decent result using gold...if so, it's about time TBH.

Got my 10th earlier today with no gold. Second event in a row I've got the tenth. My strategy for the last 2 have been to just not care so much about the events......checked in around every hour or so but not on a timer, grab a crate when I got down to 0 or 1 left, and just expected to get 8 or 9.

I know there isn't a tactical advantage to this strategy, but it's much easier on the emotions.

i have spent 1600 gold or over $200 to open this event and i feel stupid because i wasted all this money. I have opened over 80 crates since 3 days ago when i reached 9/10 and i'm still stuck at 9/10.

I'm real pissed off, because i thought using gold bars i had a higher chance % to get rare paintings. all i keep getting is those 5/5 attack/def items.

And i'm one of the players who pay $$ to play, and i dont mind it, but i doubt i will be buying gold in future because obviously its not worth it.

Be strong don't give in you only have 5 hours to go , once you miss a event item , the next one will be easier , or else you end up collecting them all like me :p

Yup the stats helped me hit the tank def goal (16000 def)... When I got the weapon it put me over that goal..

When the event started, I got 9/10 really quick and had 3 days and maybe 10 hours or so left. Spent 300 gold.
Since then I've being stucked at 9/10 and 2,800 gold bars later. NOTHING
I got sucked in and this is the last time I'm buying gold because it does nothing to improve your chances of getting stuff, might as well keep farming the in game cash and just open with medium chance.
2 hours and 40minutes left till event ends. I doubt I'll get 10/10.
and i also doubt I'll be buying any gold in future, cuz spending all this money and getting no returns has taught me a lesson.
i doubt funzio cares they lost my business, since they made $20 million last year so a thousand dollars a year is probably not gonna hurt them.

This game is statistically rigged. Do not spend any $$ on gold. I set out to prove a theory and dropped almost $100 on gold for this latest event. You'd figure Funzio would at least tilt the odds in favor of customers using gold for crates. Nope. Even with gold, your odds drop dramatically as you get closer to 10 and the event comes to a close... All in an attempt to make you desperate, yet somehow optimistic.

You may be one of the lucky few who did it without gold, well someone has to win the lottery once in a while to keep the other suckers paying out, so count yourself among the lucky folks who've won Vegas slot jackpots, been struck by lightening, or can suck their own schlong... Funzio can suck mine. I will make it a personal mission to post this wherever I can to keep peeps from falling into the spending trap these crate events create.

you got a very high opening rate, for me, i got a very low opening rate, around 80% failed
anyway my progress is 9/10 and I am already happy with it, waiting for the next event now :)

Yeah seems so, we dished out real $$$ and didn't get higher chances. Funzio is the only one laughing but im never buying gold again, i was stupid enough to spend $200 on this event alone but never again. Im gonna post a feedback of the game on their iphone page and tell people not to buy gold.

Yeah just use the medium chance, it seems people here got the 10/10 just with medium chance.

I felt rooked too. Over $200 worth of Real cash spent for the event and took me over 50 crates between the 9th and 10th painting. I am thinking for a game like this there is no way you should have to spend that much real cash. My odds are better in Vegas where I get real payouts. I am not falling for it again for the next event.
