It also seems to validate my strategy from the last CC event- basically, only ever have ONE box available to open. Yes, I have had trouble with drops, and have spent hours with no boxes, but over the course of the event, my success rate was insane. 9/10 credit cards with only 2 random prizes, only 5 or 6 "sorry's" and no gold spent. So... since I ended the last few events here sitting on over 100 unopened boxes and did not get the final prize on the 2nd event, I tried this instead. I will start using gold once I hit 7, but my approach seems to be working. Sorta. I'll keep you posted, but having 20 or 50 extra boxes doesn't seem to help. Just a thought for those of you trying not to level up too much.

I did Bronson, they even went as far as sending me the log of my tries, I got the 3 part award twice on the last event, and like the 6th part twice and the 8th part twice, so effectively I should have had the 10th reward.

Things I'm noticing with this event.

Last three my main player was opening boxes 1 in every 2 tries. Now they are 1 in 8 to 9 tries but with a spree of opens 4 in a row for warheads and then back to nothing for a long stretch.

My LLP is up to 6 boxes already. So here are the stats so far, all opens are using cash. Not finding a lot of loot but a lot of sorries more than I have had in the past 3 events so if this is going to slide like the last events unless you got lots on day 1 you are probably screwed by now.

Bro1 = 3 warheads L93
Bro2 = 3 warheads L89
Me = 4 warheads L140
LLP = 6 warheads L64

What I am noticing this time out is that the lower level players are getting more opens. I know my brothers stats don't seem to reflect this but they also have not been finding as many boxes so that is why my stats look better even though my open to sorry ratio is higher.

What is surprising is my LLP who is really out ahead of us all and spending a lot less per open. Have a feeling that in the past opens may have been triggered by how much cash you spent overall but this time might be something different or 'luck' factor is based more on level to give the lower level players a chance since they are also getting lower value units than the top level players.

Finally go my 3rd warhead but the rest are sorry. I'm pretty sure I'm screwed now. Only 3 nukes so far. My LLP isn't really playing because I can't connect my iPad to the wifi at work. Sucks because if what OA is saying is true, that's where my best opportunity was to get 10 nukes. Oh well same old events same old results.

4 nukes now. Debating the usefulness of the bonus unit. Sure the stats are nice, but at my level (34) and with my economy (~50k/hr) I don't really use energy that much. Trying not to level actually.

Funny thing, sometimes my Internet connection lags a bit when I press the nuke box to open the event page. If I press it again (impatient me does frequently) I invariably end up pressing on the "open with hands" button. Other events I have gotten nothing from that, as the odds suck. However, this event I have done this twice (yeah yeah, I am a slow learner) but have gotten a nuke from one of those!

I have been camping the free gold pages like mad and have a little saved. If I can get to 7 or 8 boxes with cash only before the last 24 hrs I might try for 10. I was able to get one top level event unit previously, silent drifter, and did it spending much less gold than i would have on a store unit with similar Atk/Def. Any advice on a good threshold for go/no-go on events? Cost-benefit analysis conducted over multiple accounts?

I am seriously beginning to wonder if any of the geek developers who created this game have ever actually played modern war. I skipped the last rewards game because my money was wasted on the previous one, i naively believed imwould have a chance to win something and all i did was waste my money.

But I decided to try the warheads reward game, but will no longer participate when the geeks punished me by rewarding me with an ally when I opened a case.

Obviously the people in charge of choosing the rewards have never played this game. Many times additional allies will do you more harm than good and anyone who has played this game for a few weeks would realize that. An additional ally was a punishment not a reward so I am out of the nuclear warhead game.

Well, that is my point if the devs actually played the game, they would know that rewarding someone with a grunt in most instances is a punishment, not a reward. The fact that someone actually thinks a grunt is a reward for opening a case tells me that individual has never play MW. It would be better to have rewarded me with nothing ....

Mad every game has its evolution - I think the ideas of goals/quests were sound, but they were fine tuning the balance. Thats why they have 3 games, which I think, have different balances in the various areas. They are seeing what works and what doesn't work.

I think they know these issues. THe value of each type of goal/quest/strategy is in the eye of the beholder - some people value each area differently depending their objective (e.g., valor, income, etc, strength to level).

Don't know the cost benefit analysis, however I know of one chap who spent 3,000 gold trying to get the last item....and failed. Odds may have changed this time, it's harder now to get parts it seems early, maybe it'll be easier to get ten if you've got nine now... If you're at 7-8 I'd say forget it and save your gold for a composites factory or something useful like units or crates

Unless you're filthy rich or have more money than sense, I would highly recommend not spending any gold on these events, regardless of where that gold came from.

If you must spend gold for imaginary items, you're way better off spending gold on limited edition units or crates because if you spend gold on these events, it's a statistical certainty that you will eventually waste a ton of money for absolutely nothing, and I mean everyone (yes that means you and you).

Like any gambling event, the odds are always in favor of the house. You may win in the short run, but if you keep doing it, you're going to lose.

I doubt the odds have changed much over the span of these events. They may have slighly fiddled with the percentages from game-to-game, but the "feeling" of variances that people report over any single event aren't really conducive to what the real percentages may be.

Bottom line, don't spend gold on events; it's a stupid bet.

I must say, I was pretty pessimistic after the last event fiasco, but can verify that this one can be done. I had a tougher time getting to 8 & 9 than I did 10, only 9 tries to get the last one. It does certainly seem that your odds do go down the closer you get to #10 though. It will be interesting to see how fast the energy meter fills up now...

I also think I will donate my remaining 22 boxes to charity...

I used gold for opening the crates. I reset the timer as necessary until I got to #8, didn't want to lose any boxes along the way. At that point, I had plenty of crates, so I just opened 1 every hour with gold.

Things I'm noticing with this event.

Last three my main player was opening boxes 1 in every 2 tries. Now they are 1 in 8 to 9 tries but with a spree of opens 4 in a row for warheads and then back to nothing for a long stretch.

My LLP is up to 6 boxes already. So here are the stats so far, all opens are using cash. Not finding a lot of loot but a lot of sorries more than I have had in the past 3 events so if this is going to slide like the last events unless you got lots on day 1 you are probably screwed by now.

Bro1 = 3 warheads L93
Bro2 = 3 warheads L89
Me = 4 warheads L140
LLP = 6 warheads L64

What I am noticing this time out is that the lower level players are getting more opens. I know my brothers stats don't seem to reflect this but they also have not been finding as many boxes so that is why my stats look better even though my open to sorry ratio is higher.

What is surprising is my LLP who is really out ahead of us all and spending a lot less per open. Have a feeling that in the past opens may have been triggered by how much cash you spent overall but this time might be something different or 'luck' factor is based more on level to give the lower level players a chance since they are also getting lower value units than the top level players.

I am still waiting, too. And seeing them on almost every player I attack. Sorta frustrating, but I can wait until after the event to send a ticket. I also don't think I ever got my 9-bar prize from the last event yet either.

I'm in exactly the same spot with this event as I always seem to get to. I always use the middle option in terms of opening things. I'm sitting at 8 after a couple of days and I expect I'll still be sitting at 8 as the event ends, hit nine once with less than an hour to go but apart from that it always seems to be 8 for me. Even tried a hit a 4am to no avail when my wife woke me on her way to the toilet, not doing that again, you get verbal abuse at home for that!

Look at it this way, it's better to get a sorry than a loot item or cash. Well that is how I take it. If you get a sorry you get to keep your box, if you get loot, it is pretty much a wasted box and will require more ranking up to get more boxes.

CheersFYI the stronger and higher level you get the boxes come much more easily. Cost of course increase per level (level*1000). You must be L35. I'm L118 and was 117 when event started, so with my 21 fails I've spent approx 2.5 mil on just failed my 21 failed opens. Events aren't cheap.

I can't wave off the boxes with a stick. I get way more than peopel steal from me or can open before a event ends. In past events I've alwasy had 200-300 extra unopened boxes at teh end. I use the medium option always and never made 10 in any event yet.

The drop rate of a box in pve is related to how much you spend. You can get drops from missions thate only require 15 energy but are more likely in the 200-400 range. Once you unlock the naval battle the adv destroyer there is 370*2 with a good cash payout too. When I was hitting that in past events I had about a 30-50% chance of a drop. After the first few days you should be able to get them in pvp, but never try starting that way.

Not really playing along much due to being 'out' of pvp for a while due to an issue funzio are loooking into (no cash or valour is dropping from raids/attacks :( ) but been doing a fair bit of pve and have hardly received any boxes. Managed 3 warheads and two cash prizes from about 15 attempts to open the five boxes i've found.

not even managed a grunt and i'd welcome a couple at the moment!

Wow, the units we get are different, maybe based on leveling...the ultimate unit that i can earn only have 200A/134D compared to you...but for my current lvl of 29, it's already a pretty great unit to have...

If you are close to the next level of prizes, I say it is definitely worth it. But I wouldn't chase an extra 15 levels to get a better prize.

BTW, I normally PVE for these events but this time, I have an ATM where I can go steal boxes. Not sure why the player attack me as we both are pretty close in term of stat. I end up buying some SH and go steal back my box back plus some. Boxes are precious to me as I only keep one to two in inventory.

Lol, 3 warheads so far. Although I haven't been trying vary hard. I use to attempt eight to ten opens per day during previous events with less than half actually opening. This event, my attempts have plummeted to four or five with way less than half actually opening so I guess it's not unexpected.

Meh, my general motivation is waning because I know the odds for the most part. Really don't care about the freebie indestructible units much anymore either, although I'll keep trying if I decide to log in.

After a whack of sorry's and units that quickly get lost, I finally hit..... 9! Nukes!
Still sitting on 8 boxes and over 3 days to go, but I'm not holding my breath for #10, but I'm pretty happy with this one since I'm UK.
I haven't kept more than a dozen or so on hand and almost all with the middle button, used some tjoy for a box yesterday, since they aren't giving up any more gold now and had 16 left.

Hope y'all have similar luck!

The blue box event had me sitting on 8 for almost 5 days until it ended and I didn't even get the 9th (with 40+ successful opens after my 8th). In the last event (cargo box) I had 30 successful opens after my 8th and fortunately got the last 2 plane parts within those opens - it took about 3 days after my 8th. I don't know if I can also get to 10 this time.

After landing the eight item, I did not get another item out of 65 tries.

In the 20% upgrade time discount promo, I opened roughly 200 total cases after having 8 in the first two days. Dropped a ton of in the process. Landed #10 with 45 minutes left in the promo and was sitting on another 50 unopened cases.

Playing this one free and all future promos, if I don't go tilt again. The energy bonus doesn't offer much interest, but the unit is cool.

I don't know what kind of figures i've had but I got the 9 th nuke, 3 heavy artillery, 2 expert whatevers, 60K x 4 , 300k x 2 and about 100 sorry....(just seems like it) which are obviously no opens. And I have 11 boxes in hand for a total of 31.

The most I have had on hand is 12, sometimes as little as 1 but average about 5 or 6, oh yeah, 100 valor x 1I would rather have the valor than the disappearing units or the cash.

I did similar in the past 2 events and I never collected more than 50 or 60 total, got 10 and 9 respectively.
