Special events? Anyone actually earn the special unit for 10 collected special items?

For the second time in as many tries I managed to get 9 out the necessary 10 special items...this time plane parts. I got the 9 in a matter of three daysbut the last piece mysteriously eluded me for the rest of the event. Practically the same thing happened during the last one. Has anyone got the top indestructible unit for 10 collected items. Im curious. I play this game all the time. Its not a matter of not playing enough IMO.

1st event: 7 titty bar
2nd event: 8 docs
3rd event : 10 parts

Edit: it's luck. Nothing to do with how much u play. Fr the 1st event i tried quite hard but didnt get it. 2nd event, i tried rly rly hard but nadaa. 3rd event i played casually n get the plane.

I actually did. Was quite surprised actually. The second event was the one I thought it would happen as I had 9 in 4 days, but could never get the last one.

This time did not get the 9th till Saturday and surpisingly got the last one. While eating popcorn, so will attempt that strategy on the next event.

For me, I figure if I can get three gold units for free, it is a win. The last was a nice surprise however, and am thankful for it.

Yes, I also got the "Blue Bomber".
For me the events turned out as follows:

1st event: 8 Titanium Bars (no gold used)
2nd event: 10 Documents (using 420 gold at the end of event to get the last document)
3rd event : 10 Plane Parts (no gold used and I got the last part 1 day/5 hours before the end of the event)

I am sure that it is a lottery that you either have luck in or you don't.

Tried hard on the first event. no gold
Tried even harder on the 2nd. used som gold, especially near the end, even to reset the timer
Tried casually on the 3rd event. no gold

Results are identical. But frustrating to get stuck at 9 each event I must say!

did the same with the last event. i just gave up after no one got the prize.

Thanks for the feedback. Guess Ill keep plugging away.

Would also be helpful if they let you keep the trying to open the residual items you have collected even after the event ends. I think I had 11 cargo boxes left when the end came.
