I've befriended a few players because on the surface they appeared to be fairly successful, only to find out later that they cheated! Dropped like a hat and attacked full force (when I could do it successfully).

I don't think screen shots needed but they help a lot. I usually send a screen shot of the players profile when I report a player. It makes it easier for the staff to find the specific player a lot faster.

Back on topic. Seems I missed some pretty juicy stuff today. Hopefully, this is a wakeup to Funzio that they need to do server-side validation of everything that is sent from the client. Almost all web-app developers who didn't listen to that lesson is school have learned it the hard way. Funzio is going through the same hands-on lesson. They're fixing these exploits as they realize their existence, but it's reactionary, not preventative.

well as long as a persons stats is over 50k then the cheater are no danger to them. the highest they can get with max cash items is around 50k plus. a bit more with gold weapons. the unfairness is when they attack those with 50k plus and down people.

I screencap'd the thread too, knowing that they would get rid of it quickly. And I actually thought of a way to use it that didn't involve filling my hood with stop signs. :) However, I've put 5 months into this game and would not be happy to get that all taken away by a moment of weakness.

Fortunately, at my level I have not seen many cheaters. I think people reach a point where they have committed enough time, that they just play the game as it is supposed to be played.

I along with many others here will report if a player looks extremely odd. I've seen just 3 but it is difficult to tell but this robbing where they lose a ton of money seems to be clear cut. Nobody carries millions into a rob, unless they want to give money back. But this is normally communicated beforehand.

How to take an In-Game screenshot.

I have a level 10 mob member who purchased an atlas ($25,000,000) when their income was about $10,000/hr now they have 2 night clubs and plenty of trees to hide the level of each building. Unless he has spent over $1000 for in game cash not to mention top tier items this guy is a cheater.

Funzio should just run a search for anyone selling decorations and ban anyone that surpass a predetermined dollar figure. Other than certain goals that require decoration purchase there should not be too many reasons to sell any decorations as most don't take up any usable real estate just sidewalk.

I just found a player that must think he is going to outsmart everyone with the cash glitch. Level in the 140's, decent income of 100k an hour, but instead of 500 of each of the expensive items, he spread it out...10 Lamborghinis, 5 yachts, Audi's, FBI shields, chain saws, tasers, chain guns...still over 200 million easily on gear.
So, there is no 'good way' to use this glitch, players are well too informed of the game mechanics and know how to spot an abuse.

It should be very easy for Funzio to run a report where if a persons equipment exceeds their income X how long they have been playing then over a certain tolerance & they haven't spent RM on cash ban them, if under tolerance investigate.

I started a thread about a month ago, inquiring as to how it is possible to "cheat" in this game. Are people exploiting the actual computer code? Is there some secret "cheater code" that folks use? I understand that a player with only $6,000 of hourly income is unlikely to have $40,000,000. Is it possible that these funds have been obtained though robberies?

Action has been takes I believe. I reported someone last week, I didn't know about this at the time but could tell that there was something strange going on. I haven't seen that person in 3-4 days, and it was one of the players that was on my rivals list every 2-3 times that I refreshed.

@CounterSniper- I have thought about getting it changed, but haven't been able to make up my mind. As Alex I "blend in". I usually pass over most Alex on rivals list because it's hard to keep straight which ones I can beat. Though I don't want to be known as a "racists, bigots and perverts who are too ignorant to realize its not acceptable", so I can't decide. Maybe it will make a good poll thread when I get the itch.

regarding the resetting to level one for exploiting a glitch, did funzio remove the player's gold items/all items including dds/m4a1s or just the glitched item. if they remove all items and reset the cheater back to level 1, it could be a good restart over opportunity but there are no more m4a1s anymore.

I'm level 8 with 2 night clubs and just dropped back to 4 mafia members. My camping is well documented here for both Crime City and Modern War. I would say a non forum member achieving what I did is highly unlikely as I've done plenty of research to get to my position and with 2 accounts.

Virtually all of my economy has gone into building upgrades. A telltale sign of a cheater at low level would be someone with lots of expensive decorations and top tiered cash items outfitted for all members.

What's more obvious is the level 10 player I just reported with two night clubs and $86,000/hr net income now. This means if they were a legitimate player their net income prior to the first night club build would have been around $26,000/hr without tycoon status. It would take many months to save for the first nc. Of course the $25,000,000 atlas decoration they had about 6 weeks ago prior to the nc construction is a dead giveaway not to mention 200 69 camaro, 150 blast guards, 150 steel garrotes and 30 grenade launchers all for level 10 is quite humorous when they only need to outfit a 50 member mafia now.
