Pirate Tavern is outside of my 12/24/48 building plan, but is it still good enough to buy 2 of em, even if it means one of the payouts goes bye-byes every day?

Gentlemen's Club is a 24 hour building. PTs aren't bad, just collect when you wake up, 8 hours later, and again either when you go to bed or shortly before. Just don't sleep in.

Anchor Imports is a definite no. Church is okay, but still not considered one of the magical HL gold buildings. Wedding Chapel marks the beginning of that set.

Those of you looking into buying gold and parlaying that into optimum-paying buildings, here is a metric for you. First I derived level 10 payouts of gold buildings with available data. Then I divided the payouts by collection times to get $/hr. Then I divided that figure by gold paid to get a kind of "return on investment" figure, represented as $/hr per gold spent. Sorting the list, we get:

IMO everything below Anchor Imports is a swindle and even Anchor is questionable. Personally I wouldn't go beyond the first four. EDIT: exception being possibly buying two Basketball Courts with the initial 10 gold. EDIT2: this list was updated. "First four" previously referred to Adult Movie Theater, Smoke Shop, Church, and Ice Cream Shop.

Level 10 payouts were used to compare faster growth Type A buildings with slower growth Type B buildings. List positions won't change based on level if restricting to one type class.


Regarding gold purchases, even if one takes the stance of wanting relative rewards right away, the four choices I recommended provide a decent spread. Adult Movie Theater is somewhat pricey at 130 gold, isn't available until level 98, but offers the highest awards. Smoke shop is affordable at 15 gold, available sooner at level 38, and still offers high rewards. Church is expensive at 200 gold, available later at level 64, but offers massive payouts. Finally, there are the Ice Cream Shop and Basketball Court, which are "free", available right away, yet still rank rank near the top in value.

Another note is I only used level 10 payouts to compare Type A to Type B. If you eliminate Basketball Court, Ice Cream Shop, and Techno Club, the remaining list will basically scale regardless of level.

Finally, I updated the list to include Jazz Club and Zeus Theater. Jazz Club is an abysmal value, but Zeus Theater is strong enough for a moderate recommendation.


Now with the gold building list more or less complete, a trend becomes apparent, with my opinions in parenthesis:

1. The "free" buildings, Basketball Court and Ice Cream Shop, offer above average value overall (perhaps to act as a teaser to buy more gold).

1. The "free" buildings offer radically above average value over their low-level contemporaries Techno Club, Mansion, and Empire Theater. In general there is a stiff penalty for buying gold buildings early (perhaps to avoid a situation where a value seeking player could rapidly stockpile cash early on or to encourage even further investment in gold).

2. There is a discount in buying later gold buildings (probably to appeal to higher level players who need greater incremental value to make a purchase).

To revise my recommendations based on level:

36 and under
Smoke Shop (one of the best values for the level in the game)
Ice Cream Shop
Chicken & Waffles
Basketball Court if space is not a concern

48 and under
Gaming Parlor
Anchor Imports (marginal)

55 and up
Everything new is worth the cost

Gclub 24. Definitely worth it.

Pirate Tavern is much better than the Church and Anchor Import espcially if you factor in gold cost.

I would steer clear of the Church and Anchor Imports and save that gold for the Palms.

DONT GET THE Taverns!!! if you buy explosives deff dont get the Taverns. If you like your 12/24/48 then get the churches and level them to 4. Not expensive and pay out 248,000 every day. I had my Taverns for a few months and just recently sold them because they got robbed twice a day.

I might hold on. I have a completely dumb hunch that new crates drop more Rares when they first get launched. Probably pure coincidence.

Info overload on the buildings now, I'll review this thread later. Rapid build times is a big plus for me though - I have the attention span of a Goldfish, and a need for instant gratification ;)

I just went to the 12/24/48 and I love it. So much easier and less stressful. I never get robbed unless i am synching and any other time I log-in im free to just use up my stamina and energy. If i dont log-in its not a problem. I do have the RC's, G-Club's and Churches so I used gold. I dont know if 12/24/48 would give you the money needed if you didnt.

I was looking to do it without.... I just gave up bit the bullet got...

2 rock stars, gents clubs and taverns.... Im level 126... My PTs don't get robbed that much... I would imagen it would be all the time higher levels tho.

Yes the math at higher levels doesnt compute. You can be robbed by someone with 15-20,000 less attack then your D. You can also exploit this. You will not be succesfull every attempt but if you have a decent amount of stamina you're fine. Its frustrating checking out who robbed you and seeing that it should'nt even be possible!

Not sure, I guess attack skill points might play into it also. I know I was getting attacked non-stop by a player with over 58k Real Defense, 70k listed Defense and I was able to rob his NC's and Office Buildings. I was succesfull 1 every 5 attempts roughly. I had like 40k attack at the time.

My taverns and nightclubs get robbed all the time. Beginning to think I should used the money upgrading other things. My Anchors, Internets and offices pay out 3.5 mill every 48. I am glad I have them.

I assume you have rock cafes already? I also assume that gold wont last until palms? :)

If you're set on getting another set of buildings i'd probably buy the churches and upgrade them to level 3 immediately and level 4 when you can.

I've been considering the churches myself since I switch over to the 12/24/48 collection times.
I wouldn't even consider the Pirate taverns, as I rob so many they are analogous to laundromats for me.
