Okay I'm losing a gold spending battle against another 2 mighty gold spender lvl 52 and lvl 53 here and at my wit end as my current financial circumstances doesn't permit me to spend more gold. Met them two rival during a cross road and was less than double my attack and defense score, Out of nowhere they now pop up my news feeds with bigger attack and defense score than before.

My lvl is currently - lvl 45
My Allies members - 576
Attack score - 22267
Defense score - 22040
Nation - United Kingdom
Income per hour - 298181

To my still inexperienced eye, your only problem is that you're carrying way too many allies! At your level, you only bring 225 allies to battle. With over 500 allies, it's possible you have put yourself on the radar of much more powerful players. Perhaps try reducing your allies?

Not sure how impressive that list is. Looks impressive, but need one of the other Midas players to comment. I've invited him to ally anyway - don't want to cross paths when he reaches me in a few months!

In a few months time you should have a resource base to compete. If he keeps attacking whales with no strategy his losses will continue to grow as he levels ups.

if they are level mid 50's and you mid 40s you shouldn't be showing up on their rivals list, so they will have to be attacking you from their newsfeed.

So basically you need more people on their newsfeed so you fall off it. I've heard you can post rubbish on their wall and the notidfications for that will lower you off their feed, but I haven't tried it.

Or you can level up superquick and spend ALL the skill points on attack and go and attack them back, or ALL the points on defense hoping they get a nasty surprise when they next attack you.

Or you can simply reduce your allies numbers, although they will still be able to attack off your newsfeed.


Similar thing happened to me - a few weeks back I went almost three weeks withoutt playing due to a broken cable modem, when I started again I had been badly beaten a couple of times by one guy. I put about 150 USD worth of gold in and atttacked/raided him relentlessly for the last three weeks, until he dropped off my feed yesterday.

Okay i swap nation to Russia and totally breaking the bank with another 890 gold spend on new equip like Swept Wing Fighter and more tactical crate. I will have to fight this one out and see who can outspend each other. I am planning to camp this one out as i feel i need more unit density power and wanting 80% gold army in the future.

Marc, you may have missed a subtle point in some of the advice above - you don't have to spend your way out of this. Yu have heaps of old, and of course you are free to keep adding to that. But if you want to get rid of these two chaps, you're gonna have to employ some kind of strategy in the short term cf. ElGringo's comments

I agree. I'm a free player and never have spent a dime yet. Thanks to the gold players for the paying for the game I enjoy though. I help people in the forum but no offense I typically stick to the free or low end gold players as they need the most help. Gold is an advantage in itslef, so if you have that in qty you shouldn't need much else.

I learned fairly early on that while gold helps in early levels, the big boys in the higher levels have spent 20-30k in real money. As a result it is a waste of my time to try to compete to be #1 because I'll never spend that much money. It is up to you if you want to do spending wars, but hopefully you know already how much you need to spend if you want to be #1. Like others say if you can't just spend money to buy your strength you need a strategy and maybe make personal goals you want to achieve instead. Set your goals and work towards them is my advice and once you meet them set higher ones.

Again I know I can never be #1 due to the cost of gold and a free player with the strongest army possible will always be weaker than top gold players by a very very large margin. Thus my main goals are/were:
-Play for the fun and challenge
-Be a 100 % free player and reach Level 100 (done)
-reach L100 with out any gold (even free tap joy gold) which I have also done, so I'm still trying to decide whether to switch to the dark side and spend 80 of free tap joy gold LOL.
-hold my own against 90% of rivals that are on my levels (+/- 5 from my level). I'm doing that now.
-help others so I have better rivals/allies to make the game more challenging. Why I am still in the forum

Thinking of dropping my allies count to support my 150 unit so that i don't bring in my super hornet as meat shield into battle . How allies do i need to do this? As for all who comment on my thread thx for your support.

Drop my allies count to 25 grunt and bingo there my 100% gold army into battle. Surprise to see alot of modern base builder.
