I not sure if this is a strategy but i used to open every box every hour even during the midnight... i set an hour interval for my alarm and i found out that i always fail... So i decided to open only during the day and the odds is so much better... maybe its just luck

Strategies are impossible past the point of knowing your odd's diminish each time you open a box and don't get a diamond.

I paid gold for everything and got all 10. I didn't want to risk any diminished odd's.

The blowtorch guarantees that the box will open, but it costs 15 gold. That option is the button on the right. By the sounds of things you are using either the free option (on the left) or the cash option (middle button).

well there 3 different method u can use to open a bank box, low medium and 100%. since Low and medium is not 100%, there bound to have failure, therefore the system reminds u to use "GOLD" for 100% opening

I've had really good luck this event, 2 other times I got pendents they where back to back.
Also had a streak of 8 opens with no fails,felt like I was using gold. I would still be shocked if I got to 9 let alone 10 without any gold.

Pendant number 10.. At long last! (no gold, just middle option cash)

Given that the event is only on for 4 days and 7 hours, I got started on this event quickly. In the opening 55 hours, I opened 48 boxes (no sleep, just naps). Got to 7 pendants within 16 tries, no. 8 took another 12 tries. Went 20 tries without any pendants before giving up on noting down and punctually opening boxes, but instead just randomly opening them at any time when I was free. Just as I had basically given up on getting any more event items and satisfied myself with getting respect points for opening, pendant no. 9 shows up. Another 3 random openings later, pendant 10 dropped out!

Guess the only advice I can give is don't expect pendants to drop just because you do them hourly. I speak from experience having attempted 141 openings in 7 days for the Contraband event, obtaining 8 contrabands.

Adopt a 'carefree' (for lack of a better word?) attitude towards the event, especially when you're on 7, 8, or 9 diamonds. Drops are just random.

Just got my 10th, no gold spent, consider myself extremely lucky. Seems the odds is better than previous 3 events. In the prev. events, the most diamond/emerlad/contraband I got was 8. I play on iPad, so not really dedicated to open box every hour.

Here is a little experience I got from this event. Well, I know not too many players would agree, so it's just my 2 cents.
I guess keeping your boxes at a low stock might improve your odds, like 7~8 boxes on hand. In the prev. events, I always had 40~60 boxes and I could never open all of them. But this time, I only kept 7~8 boxes on hand. I felt I opened more sucessfully and had a better chance to get the pedants.

I got my 10th pendant this morning with 1 day and 7 hours left on the clock. Really happy as I made it to 9 on both the pathfinder and emerald burner.

No gold spent, all middle option. I only had maximum 8 boxes at any one time as I was close to levelling up so didn't want to have unnecessary fights.

In the end I opened a total of 17 boxes.

10 pendants
2 x police vans
1 x rock bus
1 x armour vest (5/20)
2 x 125k
1 x 500 respect

Fails, roughly 30.

So really I covered most of the event with the cash I won. Very pleased.

And as economy is something I really need to work on, the decrease in upgrade time suits me just perfectly right now.

9 so far, I have all the items mentioned and seem to be waiting for the 10th Diamond. All cash no gold spent, just calm consistent medium chances per hour. The Elite Armour reward for the 9th Diamond is enough for me, 10 will be a bonus to speed up upgrading a touch.

first 9 opens: all failed
10-35 (first 48 hours): got almost 80% open with a whole chain of pendants up to 6, and a whole batch of 500x respects.
36-now: 50-50 opens.

Seems like people are getting better odds so far tho. Pretty happy I didnt throw my phone out the window and just kept trying.
