View Full Version : New Buildings + Crates Discussion

Alright, so we all know about the new buildings and the new crates right? The Magic Playhouse is a money building. In my opinion it's a little too big. The Neighborhood Watch Center is a defense building. Unless it's a new 2x2 I don't think I'll be buying any. And the new crates. We all love crates (even though some of us can't buy any), lots of sweet items in this batch of crates.

Discuss.

Why buy limited items when you can buy a 3 pack of crates and get enough stats to beat most limited items.

At first glance I thought the vicious crates had better value so I will compare when I get into work. New maps look exciting and a number of single click jobs so hopefully some new interesting loot gets dropped. I really wish an official announcement came out with release notes as well as a gold sale with new crates. I guess we can expect another event very soon so there goes my peaceful 8 hour of sleep nights!!!

Limited items are a sure thing. With crates you have to get try to get lucky with the the rare or uncommon items. If you already have high stats the common items dont really add much of anything.

Yup, that golf club is only weighing me down, i would have rather gotten the radar watch for 5 less gold.

It probably would have sunk because of a show boating captain. Therefore, crates were a better buy.

Is it pure coincidence, or do these new items seem to drop more rares when they are first released?

I certainly got more rares on my first few drops that I did subsequently.

Possibly.. I think it's the same for me, possibly. We could do an experiment and buy a specific amount now, in 1 week and go over the results... It seems like a lottery to me anyways though so I'm not sure of a rhyme or reason.

If you are refering to crates, then yes.I got 5 rares in a row, then bought 1500 gold and nothing.

Rich.... more like stupid, im a bit of a real gambler and happen to win
a few $$$ on last night college game so i dropped some cash on gold
for the new crates. ive been carrying over 1000 gold waiting to unlock
the palms lvl165 and im at 162.

I had a goal to have 1 of each rare from every crate set. I stopped this round, didnt get the prototype suit. The crates with the massacre (contraband crates) it took me 4500 gold to get the massacre.

I too am a gambler and have been carrying 1000 gold for the palms, but i spent that 1000 like 5 times already and now have 987.

Like I said earlier, if I had never bought gold, I would've been able to buy cruise tickets to mexico for four in the best room they have.

My wife and I are hardcore budgeters. We have a line-item for everything and hit our target budget each month within $10. On our monthly budget, we each have a line-item for "blow money," or money that we each spend that they other has no say over. I use my "blow money" to buy gold. I don't feel bad about it because our budget ensures we're paying the bills, the mortgage, and saving appropriately. So to answer your question, am I rich? No. Are the Nicholosts responsible with their money so they can blow it on meaningless things? Yes.

Santa, if you are 13, there's one piece of advice I can give you that, if followed, will make you millions: save your money in a Roth IRA and decent growth mutual funds. Don't succumb to buying gold or intangible things. Then, when you are in your late 20s buy whatever the F you want because you've been saving since you were 13 and are already a millionaire. I wish someone had told me that when I was your age and not when I was in my mid-20s.

I lost on last night's game and said to myself that if I win I will buy some gold. I wound up buying gold anyway today and just went and purchased 9 145 gold crates. Sadly I didn't get one rare so the losing from last night continued into today. I usually buy on a whim (or when drinking...)

Rich is a relative term but buying gold doesn't bother me other than the fact that I am purchasing an in game currency. I usually like to get some kind of discount so I don't enjoy full price gold. Right now this is the only game I a playing outside of work and my family and now that golf season is starting I don't think this will have much of an impact on my game. A caddie costs me $100 a round so maybe I skip a round a week for an extra vault of gold. Now that makes me feel even better.

The bulk of this trip is paid for by my Super Bolw winnings...

dont feel to bad about your bet, i was in a room of about 20 friends whom majority had Kansas and didnt get to really gloat my winnings due to some heavy losses. so i quiety celebrated and purchased my crates to the tune of 1 rare item.

Santa, Take these words seriously, very seriously. If you're truly a youngster and have the ability to be here and play around as much as you do, you have the ability to take these words and make them truth. Even if you're family is well off now or will be later, you have the power to create some financial foundations that will set you up for life!

Neighbourhood Watch Centre - Too big and doesn't compare to the good honest Gattlings.
Good Low Level Player Buildings to build income and defence with though.

But I am considering clearing out my garage and taking some other junk to a Car Boot sale and generating some 'FREE' money for Gold. That way I can convince myself I'm not wasting money on a game ;) Anyone want to buy a set of 22" rims for a Range Rover?

Spring cleaning is a great way to label this!!! lol... Just don't allow yourself to justify selling quality long lasting items for this.. lol Boy this reminds me of EQ or WoW ...lol

These crates arent as good as last in my opinion. My reasoning is last crates had way higher attack and the new crates are more defensive based. Defense is way easier to come by than attack. Main difference is in the rare items. Which are the sought after ones so this makes them less alluring than the last two batches of crates.
