I am on a job that I need a few assault rifles and each one is 36,000. What are the best ways to gain a lot of money and what is the best building for level 47? My income per hour is about 6000.

Hate to tell you map jobs waste of money and time. The pay outs very weak especially as you level up. As for best building I dunno. Can't remember whats available at your level been long time. Check economy planning really anything marked sticky from tramp stamp has loads of useful info.

I find the best & most effecient way to make a lot of money in a short amount of time is to take someone else's.

Good buildings to base your economy around are Movie Theaters and Lofts. I'm sure the Movie Theaters are available at your level. Buy a couple and level them up.

On a side note, don't bother doing the goals/missions. They have no good rewards and make your character weak.

Lmao, so save the extra 20000-30000 for a movie theater? I have about 120000 saved up for some building

What I really love about the rat race is the moments it really starts to snow ball... It's when you see hard work pay off...
like working out! Which I nearly forgot how to do.

At your level, the Loft is by far the most valuable building, but may be a little out of your reach. The more valuable economy builders need to be worked up to. The Movie Theatres are next on the list. If you have enough, buy these and level them up as quickly as possible to 3 or 4.
If you don't have enough, Italian Restaurants are awesome. They pay out every 3 hours, and at the higher levels can seriously make you money fast. Once again, a good economy that will make you a lot of money each day is something that takes a long time to build. At 6k per hour, I'd say you're a little behind!

On a side note, don't bother doing the goals/missions. They have no good rewards and make your character weak.

To add to this, once I started on economy, I found it more fun and rewarding than the missions. You set personal goals for growth and experience the sense of accomplishment when you complete them. But unlike missions, achieving these goals actually benefits you.

I started late and playing catch up i am up to 50K+ at LVL 105, I have
2 MT LVL 4
2 Lofts LVL 2
2 Dominican (1) LVL 5 and (1) LVL 3
The real money makers are the Italian Restaurants for me (1) LVL 7 and (1) upgrading to LVL 8 also if you use tap joy get some Ice cream shops they help out too.

I have a lot of other building I just dont want to list them all.

MTs and Lofts definitely the way to go! One thing I have found helpful is to use the spreadsheets (see links already mentioned) as follows:
1. create copy of spreadsheet but only with all your current buildings, showing how much next level will cost and gain
2. sort by $/hr_gain/upgrade_hr. This way you can prioritise upgrades that will boost your economy the quickest.
3. optional: add new column if needed adjusting (2.) according to likely collection rate, e.g: 12/24/48 hour buildings (90%), 8 hour buildings (70%), 3/6 hour (60%), 1 hour (44%).

Now you are ready: simply choose the best upgrade you can afford, but remember to check upgrade timers - make sure you always have something upgrading, so do a quick upgrade in afternoon followed by long upgrade overnight. Also, occasionally it is worth selecting a cheaper or slightly longer upgrade so you can save up for the biggies (MTs & Lofts)!

I have two level 5 ice cream shops and I keep upgrading them, thanks for all the help. I think I'm going to buy an Italian Resternaut and then save up for a movie theater.
