View Full Version : Build a condo or wait for a hotel?

So, just asking for a little building advice here.

I just got to level 119, so the Hotel will open up for me in 3 levels. I don't now how long that'll take me, but maybe 5 days or so???

Anyway, should I build a condo now for $8,000,000 or bank my money and maybe do a couple lower end upgrades along the way and just wait until the hotel opens up?

I currently am at about $103,000/hr and here are the buildings I currently have:

1 Loft level 4
1 Loft level 4--upgrade to level 5 will be done in 15 hours
1 Internet Company level 2
2 Upscale Club level 2
2 Dominican level 5
1 Movie Theater level 6
1 Movie Theater level 5
2 Brownstone level 1
2 Beachside Inn level 1
2 Zeus Theater level 1
2 Church level 1
2 Rock Cafe level1
2 Pirate Tavern level 1

I also have a few other lower end buildings (basketball court, warehouse, barbershop, deli, 2 houses, 2 tattoo parlors, a pawn shop and a fish store) but plan to sell those to make room for new stuff rather than expand. I want to hold off expanding for as long as I can, but won't be able to hold out much longer.

I have 300 gold sitting there and plan to buy 2 Gentleman's Clubs when they open up at level 125 and currently have $3,000,000 in the bank.

I'm just curious what I should do with my money right now. I suppose I could hold out for a nightclub but that'll take weeks.

Any suggestions as to what I should do? Should I hold out for a hotel at $17,000,000 or build a condo at $8,000,000 and how should I throw upgrades into the mix at the moment?

I built 2 condos. I bought 1 gentlemens club, upgrading all sorts of random crap now, I just can't stomach saving for long periods of time.

I built 2 condos...I value any high level 12,24 or 48 hour building. Income is $85K/hour and all my buildings are 12,24,48 and high level...so collectable. Upgrading upscale club now b/c it's my cheapest upgrade other than MT's to level 8, but MT take 96 hours to upgrade...upscale is 18. Will get hotels next.

Wow, you still have so many choices. The short answer is that it doesn't really matter what you upgrade first (as long as you keep upgrading) cause you'll eventually end up upgrading everything anyways.

That said, I'm in similar boat as you...lvl 105 income $142/hr, lvl 7 theatres, lvl 4 lofts, lvl 3 churches, lvl 3 zeus/brownstones/beach inns, lvl 5 dominicans, lvl 1 upscales.

It really depends on how you collect. If you are a 12-24-48 collection time like myself, then concentrate on those buildings. A nightclub won't help you much. I would also concentrate on type A buildings for their explosive growths and better ROI. Therefore, work on getting movies to lvl 10, lofts to at least lvl 7, houses lvl 10....but we warned that these have long upgrade times. However, that's not all bad because it allows you to save in the meantime for next big upgrade or to build simultaneously if you have extra cash. I would also suggest upgrading churches to lvl 3-4 because they upgrade FAST. You still have room to play with Zeus, Brownstone, Inns.

I would get both condos and hotels....condos first because they are cheaper. If you don't have room, get rid of all the crappy buildings. I don't keep any building that doesn't at least give me $100/square/hr at level 10, worst of which are the courts and warehouses.

After posting and thinking about it a little more, I think I'm leaning this way. Looking at the XP needed to level up, I'm thinking it's going to take me much longer than 5 days to gain 3 levels anyway. I need 7K to get to level 120 and without knowing for sure, I'm guessing at least 8-10K each to get to level 121 and level 122, so it's going to take me a while to gain another roughly 25K more XP. Since I'm pulling in close to $2,500,000 per day assuming perfect collection, it won't take me very long to save up the other $8,000,000 to build the second condo and even by then I probably still wouldn't have unlocked the Hotel yet. By then, after building 2 condos and once my level 5 loft upgrade is finished I'll be up to more like $120,000/hr, which is getting pretty close to $3,000,000 per day and then it'll only take me 5 or 6 days to save up for a hotel.

I thought the same way. Your income is higher than mine as I don't have any gold buildings...but even so, saving for the two condos didn't take much time at all. Plus, it takes like 96 hours for the condos to build, so lots of time to upgrade something and save for the second condo. I figure by the time hotel unlocks I'll have both upscales to level 2 and at that point I guess I'll bite the bullet and take both MT's up to level 8...next both lofts to level 6 and I'll see where I'm at then.

Thanks. That's what I'm thinking too. I'm just coming up on a few choices here given my level, so I'm trying to plan a little bit. After the hotel, I'll have a very long way to go until the office building opens up at level 135 and then it's another 30 levels until the palm hotel opens up (if I want to spend money on gold) or another 50 levels until the casino opens up. It seems like that will take many, many, many months. Assuming Funzio doesn't add any other buildings, I won't have to make any decisions for quite some time after the hotel. I'll just work on upgrading and POSSIBLY build a nightclub, but that 6 hour collection time bothers me. I have a hard enough time collecting my 8 hour pirate taverns.

So, if I build a condo, I should be able to turn right around and build the second one as soon as the first one is done. By the time the second one is done I should be right around level 122, so I can work on building my hotels and once those are done I'll have a long time to work on upgrading stuff until level 135. If I could be up to say $200,000/hr by the time I get to level 135 then it'll only take me about 5 days to save up for an office building and, again, once the first office building is finished I should be able to turn right around and build the second one. After that I'll have a minimum of 30 levels worth of upgrading. It sounds like a good plan in my head.

edit: I did forget that I'm going to have to start expanding here pretty soon too, so that'll cost money and, more importantly, time.

Thats the way Whoop. And pick high value/longer upgrades like the MT as you go through this intensive stretch of new buildings.... lasting all the way through about 145 or 150 depending on how fast you can generate capital. Keep all queues burning.

And NCs are a b^&*%&*^.

Hi

Consider getting your Church and Zues Theatres upgraded from Lv 1, Church at Lv 4 is $290000 a day, Zues theatre is $52000 every 12 hrs at lv 4, upgrade costs are quite reasonable.
