Please post here if you have 8, 9 or 10 contrabands and used no gold to open boss bags. I'm curious to pool findings and perhaps come up with an approximate percentage chance of opening bags with the rusty scissors. It may also be similar to future events and aid us with them as well. Pleas post in a format similar to mine:

You rang? I'm sitting at 8 contraband. 48 attempts so far, of which, 28 were successful. All attempts have been with the medium option.

I got a late start, so I'm doing pretty dang well, all things considered.

I currently have 9 contraband. Started out well having 6 with 5 days to spare... Or so I thought! 48 hours of NOT ONE contra and only 5 opens in 24 attempts.

So overall looks like this: 70 attempts, 26 open, 9 contra, 4aces wild (gun), 4 NATO gas mask, 3mafia members (could have gotten them for free), 300rp x2, 50k x2, 1 bloody Ak, and 1 police armor

Looks like most people are having better opening rates than myself and better luck finding contraband when getting a successful open attempt. That being said, I have seen people with even worse luck than myself. Sigh, these events are frustrating.

This isn't a very detailed run down but...

Since it started I have opened 13-15 per day and have paid 10X Level every time and have received 8 Boss Bags and got some Money, Respect, Weapons and a glowing car.

If I remember correctly I got my first 6 Boss Bags in the first 2 days and I don't think that I will make 10 buy the time it ends and the hit rate for opening Boss Bags has dropped off for me.

Last event I averaged 18.5 attempts per day. I haven't kept track this time because it's too frustrating. I have 8 right now all using medium option. I was hopeful at first because I got 4 the first day, but I'm on a long dry spell right now. Today is my last day opening bags because I'm off to Mexico in the morning, so feel free to come pillage while I'm gone. Level 116, Coco- 124000/hour so I've got some ok buildings.

#9 was a surprise after I had been sitting on 8 for almost three days. The failed attempt afterwards had me prepared to go on another long fail streak. Getting #10 so soon after, or at all even, was almost unbelievable. Even more surprising if you had crap luck for the first two events like I did.

I don’t think your chance of opening bags changes based on the number of contraband(s) that you have, only the chance to get a contraband upon opening success.

But it would be nice to know the percentage chance of opening a bag. I seems to vary from palyer to player. I have seen people with above 50% opening chance and some people with around 25%. Im at about 30%.

Next hour next fail...there are clearly no random statistics associated with any event.

Which is a bit of a joke to be quite honest. I'm not a gold player but if I was I'd be pretty pissed off at the rate of return. The event clearly gears everyone towards 8 or 9 event items but then the odds sufficently drop so that only a minority achieve 10 items. Random number generators will not work like this therefore funzio is fixing the outcome so people feel obliged to spend some gold to attain the holy grail of the magical 10th item.

Outcome of a game, how fair is it that the closer you get to a goal you are more likely to fail?

If they alter the outcome once you reach a certain level of items then the whole premise of chance goes out of the window.

It's so they don't flood the playing field with high-end items. If it were easy to get each of the top items, every player would have them, and there would be no differentiation between rivals; everyone's stats would be offset upward by the stats of the top item.

BTW, there are a lot of games where the likelihood decreases as the prize becomes more lucrative. Ski Ball comes to mind.

Not saying I agree or disagree with your opinion, but companies do this all the time.... Ever play the Monopoly game from McDonalds? Every year, they make over 1 million Park Place pieces, but then they only make 1 Boardwalk piece.

It's a marketing strategy. They get you thinking that you're already halfway to 1 Million dollars, making you more likely to purchase more things from McDonalds in hopes of finding that other piece.

Funzio gives you contraband fairly easily at the start. Then as you get closer to the grand prize your chances diminish. When you're sitting at 9/10 the average person thinks, "I'm soooo close, I just need one more."

As the deadline approaches, they're far more likely to shell out money for Gold if they are sitting at 9/10 than they would be if they were sitting at 2/10 or even 5/10. Whether you think it's right or wrong is up to you. If you don't like it, don't partake in the event or shell out $$$ for the items.

I will say, however, it could have been worse. Atleast Funzio openly disclosed the fact that the drop chance diminished as you acquired more.

fair point, but it can also be seen as a way to generate cash too, I would disagree with you slightly on differentiation between rivals, take me for example. I go to rivals list go fight a bunch of people and their stats are higher or lower than mine, if there was a fair chance that anyone can receive 10 contraband at say 3:10 then I get the 10th contraband, a couple of other people might get it too.

All its doing is shifting the numbers one way like a wave. relatively speaking my stats compared to the other golden ticket winners havent changed at all. How often do you see the same rival in your rivals list? Not very often at all, so the likelyhood of it distorting the stats is very little.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is paying gold to do these events is utterly ridiculous as everyone has the same chance (I know they get a guaranteed open, but the chance of contraband doesn't increase) and isn't really fair to gold payers.

But if they are stupid enough to spend 100's or 1000's of pounds/dollars/euros then more fool them.

I've noticed this too. The past few events I've had no problem getting up to 8-9 using the medium option and I usually do it with 3-2 days left on the event. Then after that I never get any more and I'm doing at least 16-18 attempts a day. With the way it's happened to me in Crime City and Modern War I'm starting to suspect that these "random" open successes aren't as random as they seem to be and are more of a attempt to get me to buy gold

Also, I have been stuck on 8 contrabands(CB) the last 3 days on my level 130+ account, and have spent almost 500 gold opening bags...Go figure.

I'm going to call you out on this one. They (Funzio) are not a cheater. They did successfully design a game that suckers in suckers to spend gold on unknown odds. I mean, you have absolutely no idea how the game mechanics work or what the odds are, yet you drop 4320g on assumed odds. For all we know, the chances of a 10th contraband dropping could be 1:100,000 or it could be coded so that only 5 10th items drop per hour. Actually, the latter makes a lot of sense because it prevents the pool from getting saturated with top items if enough people try. But that's beside the point. The point is that accusing Funzio of cheating is actually your failure to take accountability for your own bad decision. Its not Funzio, it's you.

My update ... 1 last chance to go and I still haven't got that 10th one, so it was either go out and buy a handbag or spend the money on 2 crates...... I choose 2 crates at least it made me fell better lol. Hope the rest of you had better luck

No hope :). Tried to reset timer and had "Server Unreachable" error several times. It did work finaly, but it brought my remaining gold down to single digit. 1 more free try and that is it for me. 10th is just out of reach. At least I got 3 crates prior to avoid spending it all on event. Wrote to support by wont get any response till event is over.

I think you need to change it up, I was using the rusty sissors the whole event then, decited that i was going to use the saved up TJ gold for the last 3 hours only needed 1.

Woot! Just got my 10th contraband. Spent 150 gold today, as i decided if i had 9 going to the last day i'd spend gold at each hour instead of in game cash.

I probably opened ~14-15 per day for 6 days with in game cash and 10 today with gold.

edit: crazy, got my 10th on my modern war account im just doing econ and following the story on an hour later too. no gold.

i finish with 9 contraband, 98 boss bags, spend a lot of money (no gold) and i couldn't get the last contraband to get the pat maker... it's o most imposible to get it with out gold???

I have the exact same record as you Matt and your why question, it's all down to luck.
