50 gold crates.. What's the average? A/D

Hello guys,

Someone asked me to give the average A/D which you can get from the crates.. 65% / 25% / 10% (you know....)

Anyway.. I need help with this :P

So let's take the items this week which you can win with 50G.

65% chance getting an item with these stats: 13/38, 32/20, 10/40.
25% chance getting an item with these stats: 72/62, 80/56, 76/63.
10% chance getting an item with these stats: 110/290, 132/112, 156/84.

What is the average A and D for trying your luck with 50 gold?..

I think.. for Attack:
Items with 65% chance have average attack: 13+32+10 / 3 = 18 attack
Items with 25% chance have average attack: 72+80+76 / 3 = 76 attack
Items with 10% chance have average attack: 110+132+156 / 3 = 133 attack

65% of 18 = 11.7 attack
25% of 76 = 19 attack
10% of 133 = 13.3 attack

Average attack for 50 gold = 44 attack (11.7+19+13.3)

I think.. for Defence:
Items with 65% chance have average defence: 38+20+40 / 3 = ~33
Items with 25% chance have average defence: 62+56+63 / 3 = ~60
Items with 10% chance have average defence: 290+112+84 / 3 = 162

65% of 33 = 21.45 defence
25% of 60 = 15 defence
10% of 162 = 16.2 defence

Average defence for 50 gold = 52.65 ~ 53 (21.45+15+16.2)

So.. Can we say? your average stats for opening crates with 50gold are: 44/53!
For 50gold = really high!! and conclusion = BUY ONLY CRATES lol.


Any math geniuses out there?

nice math. but this conclusion would only apply to a high amount of crates bought. b/c anyone who bought just the three pack would get no where near this. very unlikely. but interesting to read(:

yes if someone buys alooooot crates... your average will be in theory 44/53 for 50 gold.

If your planning to buy.. only 1 crate.. luck luck luck :P
But if your planning to buy 9+ crates.. the best stat/gold item is the crates :)

Is it possible to get 3 the same rare item with the 3 crate boxes for 145 gold? If so.. in theory buying 3 boxes for 145 gold = best. (if your buying minmum 3 bigpacks :P)

By looking into the game code, I assume it is allowed.
All of my posts which referred to numbers, came from reading game code, so they are reliable.

For the metal crates, and steel crates, I bought the 3-crate package until I got at least one of every unit. Took ten for the steel crates, and 8 for the metal crates. Had terrible luck with the war crates so I gave up. Did that like 5 times and got the same unit twice in each purchase like 4 times straight.

Seems strange that the odds are better to get 2 rare items than just 1???

Yeah that cost me over 1,000g each time. I stopped doing that after these crates. If any more come out, I am only going to buy one or two 3-crates.

Although it is possible, it is EXTREMELY unlikely to get 3 rares in a 3 crate pack. On the flip, I have gotten 3 of the same common (Sea Explorer). On 3-4 occaisions, I have gotten 1 rare and 2 uncommon; while it's not 3 rare, it was a heck of a deal for 145 gold bars.

I fully endorse the crates as a way to build your army economically; it worked for me!

That is 100% accurate, I spoke with tech support about this when the Metal crates cames oout. THe Mobile ICBM 255a/ 115d dropped at a substantially lower rate. It took me 53 crate purchases to get one. However, I faired much better on the next set, War Crates; I got 5 rares (2 Hill Fighters, 2 Hind MI-24 200a/ 170d, 1 Chariot Tank). The Hind MI 24 being the rarest of the 3.

JMC, just saw your signature and made me remember to ask you. How did you get all those gold units? There from awhile ago, before I even started playing.

Like the Ghost Operative and Sand Crawler.

Sand Crawler was one of the loot for the supply box event for the 81+. The Gold unit that looks like the sand crawler is some kind of mega carrier or something, forgot the name.

Ghost Operative is a boss loot, not a gold unit. The gold unit that looks like it is the PsyOps.

You can tell by the stats, they aren't gold :P.

Many of the gold units have identical looking mission loot units, those are the ones i collect, while you collect the actual limited editions. I actually lost the predator sub (looks like camo submarine) and the ghost operative in PvP a long time ago. But since they recent'y added more loots to PvP loot, i got them back off that.
