Every event starts as fun, because you collect the contrabands/diamonds/emeralds very quickly.. but at the end, it just seems like a scam. I'm stuck for 2,5 days now at 8 contrabands and even with gold, I have got only RP, weapons and cash. Come on Funzio, at least give us a present when we open 20 bags in a row with no contraband.

1) Main Reward- good, drop rate- Good (maybe a bit to high), Event 10/10.
2) Main Reward- very good, drop rate- bad, Event 7/10 (to much differences from first event).
3) Main Reward- poor (with hope for changes), drop rate more like first event -Ok, Event so far 9/10.

I think event number 2 killed these things for a lot of people who are willing to spend money. The drop rate was expected to be like the 1st, it doesn't seem that it was, and many seem burned. Without seeing drop rates posted, this group of people will never buy gold again.

Conspiract theory: Funzio released this event so soon because they realized how pissed people were getting from the last event, and they adjusted the drop rates so people in the future would have their confidence restored.

Ok my stats then Sig 8/10 cash or free , 10/10 with 180 gold cause wanted to sleep with 48 hours remaining
Lock boxes used 48 with gold .
Emerald burner 6/10 cash only boxes used 26 , 10/10 2000+ gold 95 lock boxes ..
Path what ever , 6/10 cash used 20 boxes , 10/10 1500 gold used exactly 40 boxes , 300 gold went in between refresh for cash attempt to reset system .( could have used free )
Sadly could not test low box versus high box theorie cause was involved in a rivalry .

So last attempt algoritme seems more fair and most could get the reward for free .

This event...6 Contraband cash option only so far. Theoretically 168 bags could be opened using cash option...realistically maybe 56 or less on a good week. 1 per hour with no speed-ups.

I have used the medium chance feature exclusively through all three events.

Burner: Excellent prize, okay safe drop rate, and abysmal emerald drop rate. I was actually surprised to get even 7 emeralds. This event turned me away from spending gold on future events because the emerald drop rate was so poor.
Contraband: Okay prize, okay bag drop rate, and descent contraband drop rate. I have received a lot more loot and higher successful open rate than the previous events. That has made this event more fun, IMO.


LFizzle, my constructive feedback is this: I like a little bit of a gamble and willing to pay for it, but I need to know, or have a decent idea, what my odds are. What I do not like about these three events is that the odds of receiving each of the special loot items (diamonds, emeralds, and contraband) are unknown. It was said by CCM in the original lockbox event post that the odds of getting a special item loot drop decrease as you get closer to 10. But for me to spend gold, I need to know what the odds are. Crates are a good example of the information I need in order to spend gold. There is a substantial risk involved with crates, but it's one I am willing to spend money on because the odds have been published and I understand them. Does that help?

Contraband - 6. So so prize. 0 gold. Swore after emerald experince never buy gold again unless end prize is worth it. Current drop rates for contraband seem to be more reflective of the emerald competition, although I have sworn off using gold, so we're not comparing apples to apples.

In summary, I echo Nicholast, in that I prefer to know odds before making a gold purchase. However I can speculate some understandable reasons why you would not post odds for a limited time event. My experience was that the Emerald event so turned me off the events that the end prize would have to be substantially rewarding to me to warrant another gold purchase.

After diamond fiasco, I decided to only use gold if I achieved 9 via cash option. I did and then spent 600 gold attempting to get #10. That failed and decided to do one last cash open right at the end and received #10. I personally thought the Emerald drop rate was much better than the diamonds...wasn't aware people had a problem with it. The prize was worth spending gold on imo. I am a religious banker and that prize upped my income significantly.

45 Gold so far, rest cash. Was on vacation, so only getting 5-6 opens per day until today. This prize is worthless to me, so I will not spend much gold on this one. My income comes from people who don't sync their hoods. :)

Actually, what I am picking up is that people spent some gold on the 1st event and got comfortable with the idea, spent a lot of gold on the 2nd event and got burned, and are spending NO gold on this event. Look at all the posts showing gold spent on the 2nd and 3rd events and almost to a man everybody has closed their wallets.

Until Funzio shows actual chances of winning, and lists what the chances were in the last events, I think these people are done spending gold forever on these things.

what really turns me off is those gaps...
i had 9 diamonds went 62 hrs of no gold attempting 18-19 a day and finally dropped gold to get sig.
sat on 7 emeralds for over 48hrs and decided f*#k it im not spending gold the last day for
a CHANCE at 3 emeralds
It has now been over 50hrs since contraband 7 dropped for me, i will not spend gold on this event
and am satisfied with my 7.

I do try to keep a positive attitude but it is really hard with three disappointing events in a row. I've put a lot of time into this event and was really hoping that I could get the final item for once. With well over 100 attempts and 8 contraband to show for it, you can see my frustrations. I see people on the forms with way less attempts than me and who have 9 or even 10 contrabands.

Anyways, sorry for whining but I’m hoping that by posting on the forums, especially this form in particular, that L Fizzle will notice and perhaps it can be discussed by Funzio. Maybe we could get an implication in future events that will make it less frustrating.

Heres a basic run down of my results from this event:

As you can see from the data, I havent had much luck getting them open or getting good drops when I do get them open. The only drops that are useful are respect or contraband. The game money is negeligable as my income per hour is over 100k. Getting $10,000 or even $50,000 does not help much when saving for a $9.5 million upgrade. The equipment is also useless because more than 50% of the time it does not even get equiped by my mafia as an offensive or defensaive item. This is because I have my mafia suited with respect equipment. It would be nice to have a rebalance of the drops for the next event and the opening chance increased. Just my two cents.

@theONE, it is only a game and it you work out a good strategy you can still compete. If you are not prepared to spend RM then accept that they people that do(and they spend a lot) will have the advantage.

Definitely not on this one...even though I loaded up on gold with the sale I'm only spending on crates...the end bonus prize...40 attack skill points FFS what for?

Now, if they'd offered 40 skill points to distribute as we saw fit then that would have been a more attractive bonus and I might have thought longer about it...

gold buyers should be banned from ALL events. How do we non gold buyers take on those with 50000 to 100000 attack/defence as is let alone them having EVERY event item?

Don't worry though... the reality is the the "gold buyers" are probably only going to target other "gold buyers"... because what's the point of picking off the non-gold buyers?

I think 40 att is awesome, that means additional 800 att for your lv200, plus the item attack, it'll be a 1150 att weapon, which if on sale, I think at least worth 3000 gold

When I was a non-gold player (till lvl 102) I specifically targeted gold players.

Since I've became a gold player I target everybody & anybody that has cash or buildings worth my time or when I'm doing Thug Life
