Is there any way to get chain whips other than through getting to level 55 and then using respect points? Such as a drop from the lock box events or missions?

I just ran across a level 50 player that has two of them, which seemed odd if they can't be unlocked until level 55.

Strangely, what really made me notice the chain whips was the income of the player was less than $4,000 per hour, but he still also had 116 audis, 202 steel garrotes, 108 golden magnums, 106 sniper rifles, 66 machine guns, 230 blast guard helmets, 51 fire axes and a bunch of very expensive items that it would be quite expensive to accumulate. For a guy that makes less than $4,000 per hour.

Is this plausible without some . . . creative self-help?

Incomes can be changed as much as our outfits. Also there are some weapons that look like chain whips but are different. Possibly you saw something else? Other than that I don't know...

I dont think they should be available at lower levels.... Ive never had anything drop them from my recollection.

Can't explain the guy's arsenal, though. steel garrotes def should not show up until later, from what I remember.

Some items, including the Chain Whip, can be obtained before they are unlocked in the store. They are awarded for completion of goals in the goals list.

As for the amount of expensive items in that player's inventory, report them if you think they cheated and let Funzio deal with it. They are the only ones who would be able to tell for sure.

Chain whips i think can be an award as part of the 'thug life' and 'championship' round goals.

I still think there is a reasonable explanation for this. I just don't claim to know it myself. lol

+1 dudeman. I had eight exeleros prior to level 115; however, if the guy is mobbin' with that much stuff I'd raise a eyebrow.

Thanks for the replies - I thought it may be possible to get them through missions, but then shouldn't they also show up as part of the "loot" inventory? These don't.

In any event, I ran some quick calculations on his highest priced stuff, and ended up with these figures - having a hard time making sense of them if they are to be believed as legitimate. Remember, a level 50 player, income of less than $4,000 per hour (I understand that you can change income generation easily, but how long would it take a player at this level to accumulate this much and eve more cash).

GUNS
95 assault rifles x $36k = $3.42mm
108 golden magnums x $70k = $7.56mm
106 sniper rifles x $150k = $15.9mm
66 machine guns x $270k = $17.82mm

MELEE
93 meat cleavers x $11k = $1.023mm
51 fire axes x $27k = $1.377mm
202 steel garrotes x $53k = $10.706mm
23 machetes x $110k = $2.53mm

ARMOR
230 blast guard helmets x $125k = $28.75mm

VEHICLES (this is where it gets more unreal)
62 camaros x $35k = $2.17mm
31 kawasakis x $95k = $2.945mm
20 Mercedes x $2.1mm = $42mm
31 monster trucks x $1mm = $31mm
26 city buses x $1.5mm = $39mm
116 audis x $900k =$104.4mm
52 armored SUVs x $480k = $24.96mm
14 vipers x $280k = $3.92mm

Total for just these items exceeds $620mm.

Fredo- trust me, don't think too much into it. You'll drive yourself nuts.

And nevermind mnju_03- he thinks everything is interesting. :P

The only plausible explanation without cheating is that this player has high fights and robberies won stats and/or jobs completed. It is possible but highly unlikely that they had a lot of high level income buildings and decided to sell them off.

If your 620 million calculation is correct I'm going with a high probability that they are cheating.

Best thing to do is take a screenshot if possible if not its okay, just report the player to funzio and let them decide if they are cheating or not.

He has completed roughly 800 missions and won 2,600 fights and 400 robberies. I really wanted to give the guy he greatest assumption of legit play, but I just don't see how the numbers add up. His per dollar take would have to be absurdly and unrealistically high. I am confident that my calculations are correct, and even then the totals don't include all of his items. I don't like to rat on people, but I guess Funzio should figure this one out.

Maybe he bought cash with real money.

Some people do it.

But when in doubt, report to Funzio and let them sort it out.

Vault of Cash is proportionnally dependant on your income.
At 4k/hr income, your vault of cash should be around 600k so while it's possible to have just bought the Vault of cash, it's unlikely. Though there are exemples of people spending more than 10k RL money on that game.

Chain Whip can be obtained before lv.55 as it is the reward for 2 particular goals early:

---> Championship round 15 : Win 20 consecutive fights against opponents with 40 mafia members or more (80 exp, 250 R, Chain Whip)

-> Thug Life round 24 : Win 10 fights against opponents with 140 or more mafia members (100 exp, 220 R, Chain Whip)

Three options:

1. Spent a lot of real money on in-game cash (not the best way to spend your money, but to each his own)
2. He did have a lot of high level income buildings and sold them (not very likely, or smart!)
3. He's cheating

Either way, just report him to Funzio and let them sort this out. It's one thing to ask for opinions on a player here (which I know is all you are doing), but we are really not supposed to be ranting on about cheating players... good way to get a warning!
