New Event Started

Well was going to get some money from my bulidings and the new event has started. Way cool to actually be there when it was just kicking off instead of tomorrow.

Will not bore you with too many details as you can all read. But have already opened one briefcase have one sitting to be opened, so it is nice so far.

At level 56 here are my rewards.

3 Briefcases - Military Patrol Boat 7/15
5 Briefcases - Demolition Raider 31/14
7 Briefcases - Raid Tank 34/17
10 Briefcases - Shadow Stalker 217/148 Building Upgrades 20% Faster

Not even going to tell my wife as she is still worried about me playing this game till all hours of the night.

I would suggest fellow game players a bit of discretion or we might have intervention for our addiction.

During last event I levelled from 58 to 64 and lost 2000-3000 in both attack and defence due casualties. Now finally my wounds are healed, engines oiled and tank tracks polished, this new event happens, oh boy... Bring it on!

In the last event you could only take boxes PVP if that player had one, chances are not many people have any at the moment so PVE is your best bet until later on in the week

Someone once said that raiding other players has a chance to give boxes whether they have them or not. So that's probably how you got them if you were raiding people.

I have been up too long playing already and have 5 briefcases. 4 of these were from PVE and one from PVP. Like last time I suspect initially that PVE is the way to go, but not sure if they have changed the fundamentals or if they remain the same.

JMC has a good point that I have no evidence to support. I have been attacking quite often to see if there is any correlation to a briefcase and player. I tried to attack players who had allies from 55-98. That is all I can see in my rivals list, so do not have a larger sampling to pick from.

Have opened the first briefcase on the first try, but as of this time have not successfully opened up any more.

Last time when the event ended had 90+ crates left and lost them all. As a result am changing tactics on this event. I will hunt cases, but will not get such an excessive number. This will help me not leveling up too quickly and wasting units.

As a side note, my loss numbers have jumped pretty dramatically. Osprey's, Stealth Boats are now being lost as a number much higher than before.

Stricker - no worries, no monopoly here on threads, just wanted to get the word out that the new event started for those of us who do not sleep waiting around for these things to start so we can abuse ourselves trying to get the golden fleece only to fail miserably and go into withdrawals. No I am not bitter about it either!!! LOL

Bad News - levelled up already

Tactics - I have decided to keep to a 5 box limit so when I manage to open 3 boxes (no gold) will then go hunting for 3 more and this should stop me gaining to much exp

Actually made a comment on the sticky thread in regards to a suggestion.

Otherwise agree with you Bronson, it does not make sense to gather a bunch of briefcases that will go to waste. Last time leveled up too quickly and learned my lesson and will follow a strategy very similar to yours.

I don't recall who it was, but there was somebody collecting boxes for the hell of it last event. There was like 2 day's left and had almost 200 boxes.

I finished the last event with 1 box. After day 5 I had 14 left and the worst success rate ever so decided to stop gathering and try and open what I had left.

I'm already about 30 levels to high for my stats so don't need to lvl up any more.

Not holding out much hope for 10 with no gold but 7 will do nicely again.

Also what are the other items? The last loot items had good stats but didn't hang around to long.

And please no more allies not for £60k

OK. Now have 4 docs already. The last 2 in a row from knife opens. So after going 0 for 3 I'm now 2 for 5 with the knife, still no prize other than doc for me. Only sitting on 4 unopened. PvE drops are slim right now. PvP drops are rare as well. But I am still more active than I was two days ago, which was probably part of the point. I ended the last event with well over 100 boxes unopened, and kept getting them long after I reached 10 bars. I kept opening them, because $500k or 300 valor is still a decent prize, but I definitely stopped using gold opens after I got the big prize. Good Luck to all!!

i agree with one of the posts that I read on here about the mini sub mission in emir island. it is not going to yield a high amount of cash, but its relatively low energy and out of 8 attacks, i obtained 4 mini subs and 4 briefcases (sometimes separately, sometimes after the same hit). not too bad. update: i have done some higher energy attacks on missions such as the guerrilla commander 233 energy / per hit (did it about 8 times and only got one)...so still gonna stick with the mini sub!

about 30 PVP over the past few hours and no briefcases from that yet

I like the new 10 doc unit but not near as much as the response unit I drooled over. Still have my tapjoy gold at 135 so I might use some of that if I get close to the mark again. But it's nice to have a new event and more excitement going around again. GJ funzio :)

Another thought came to me as I watch the details of this event unfold. It is obviously important (from the point of the mechanics Funzio have set) that 3 documents are won as early as possible, since until that first unit appears in your inventory, how are other players to know you are participating and have briefcases to loot? I have not even had a sniff of an attack yet - and that's not an invite to get one - whereas I noted Stricker has had several. Since I am sitting this one out entirely, what are the chances I won't get hit all week without any of these high profile new units flagging my base as a potential source of briefcases?

I'm having the same problem. After being all night playing and ready to go to bed i thought i would give one more try and nothing. I also noticed 6 of my buildings are showing that they are upgrading which confirms that something is wrong.

I think that getting 8 docs by the second day is above average so well done! In the last event I did not get 8 boxes until day 6. This time I am already on 7 which I'm very happy with, all done with pocket knife.

I've just got doc number 4. Even though It's not number 7 or 8, I'm really happy. Last time I just got 6 for all event. Besides I've been getting some money from the cases pays for almost all money that I used so far. Overall, not so bad till now.

WP- (or anyone) have you been able to find more than 7 TS docs yet? I seem to be stuck again at 7- this is as far as I got in the last "event". I have opened 14 so far, but can't find anymore TS docs.... I have 19 cases to open- ill be busy for the next 6 days!

My pictures on my desktop. It said it was too big so I stuck it in tinypic to shrink it. Tiny pic generates the codes (like when I use my cl name I could put I pic in my handle with the code <img scr= code here > ) but every code I input into the mw system tells me I have the wrong url. Maybe I'll try saving my tinypic to the desktop???

I don't know why it is saying wrong code. Try shrinking it through "Paint" on your pc. That way you won't have to worry about the codes.

I've been having some bad luck the past couple hours.. But you shouldn't quit the game cause of bad luck because that's all it is.. It is not rigged.. but random it does not choose which player to open or fail to open. So many ppl try to say its rigged or set up to make you buy gold.. Even though they want you too.. You can get all 10 without it. It's just luck or random some of both. Some people make it to 10 without gold. Some people don't same with gold players.. Just try to have fun and maybe you will win some decent free units in the process. Just keep tring.. You might not win but atleast you didnt give up.

I can deffinetly tell a difference on my end. Of course that was switching from the us though. But I have my hanger at 8% so far on top of the Russian boost. Swinging battles for me from time to time when I risk going after someone with stats close to mine. Been bulking up more with air units as well. Just need to farm valor out the a** still though.

I can't tell you the best one. But last event I got a few boxes from the amp squad leader while farming a bit. But was 1 out of 6 hits or so.. Not sure of your lvl forgive me but the naval battle is a popular map for these events. Good luck

Emir island - hit the sub top left corner
Naval - hit the destroyer bottom left corner

I pick these as if you don't get a case you can get amphibious troops, mini subs and a large pile of cash respectively

Sounds like you're all being a lot luckier than me; I've got zero from four (rusty knife) openings today, and only got 1 secret doc, $250k and 300 valour from about 12 (rusty knife) openings yesterday. That said, the first day was great for me - 5 secret docs, a typhoon tiger, $1.25m and $0.25m from 9 (rusty knife) openings - if only that drop rate had continued!
Edit - I just got another typhoon tiger on Monday attempt five, not the best or most useful drop rate today!

I really want 20% faster upgrades, Funzio is testing me on my "play for free" ethos.

I think i had something wrong with my app and that was possibly messing with my open rates. I reinstalled last night and today i opened most of my cases and got 3 secret docs. Also noticed a change in unit look for the ranger, sniper, light gunner, engineer, medic, military ambulance and scout which were mentioned weeks ago. That change never happened to me but now theyre here. Also casualty rate improved. Now getting some fights with zero losses against people with 10000 defense. Lost only one valor unit in 40 fights and more meatshields dying than valueable units. Dunno if its just me but if u havent deleted and reinstalled the app in a while it might help.

gah ive opened them every hour yesterday and today so far. I only have 3... 3!!! it's getting kind of annoying. i feel pretty unlucky.

EDIT: DOES ANYONE HAVE WORSE LUCK THAN ME? I've opened up about 25-30 and have only received 3 docs

I'm sitting on 5 docs got my last one an hour ago.. Averaging 1 a day I'll make it lol but it's just gonna get worse from here on. Did I hear mention of mud bugs / crawfish? Man now I'm craving them sobs.. Who wants to broil some up with some crab boil and cayenne? Any takers? Haha

How did you open them?

The first 2 were cash option, then I couldn't get any opened and started using gold. I have switched back to cash, but once I get a fail, I get impatient & reset timer and open with gold. Last time I had 9 and could not get 10, even using gold; I don't plan to get burned again, I really want the upgrade reduction Heli! They seem to get harder to find as the days pass; in the last contest, it was borderline impossible to get a titanium bar the last two days. My strategy is to go all out, before the contest dwindles down to one day remaining; I hope to have the unit by then!

I still haven't gotten any good loot units from the cases. Last events loots seemed to be a lot better on average.

That's what im talking about. Typhoon tiger, elite brigadier, have pretty nice stats and even the supply frigate and military police truck were decent.

Don't know if the loots aren't that good, but im just not getting that many and the ones i am getting are pretty weak. Not really 'free' anymore either. Last event i didn't care at all about $11100. Paying $118000 per attempt costs a bit though.

Few random units, one 100 valor, one 300k. Havent been able to open many since then. Do the odds of opening the cases drop after you receive a few? I know how you feel - 4 on the first day and nothing since! 1 valor (500), 4 cash ($250k) a few units and loads of sorries! I want more for my $91k an attempt!

what are the stats on the upper tier loot units

i'm in the next tier down and loot units i've seen so far are:
Iron wing fighter 21a/16d (looks like harrier)
Steel Cannon 18a/15d (tank)
Bombardment Frigate 13a/12d
Petroleum Fighter 12a/9d (looks like heavy bomber jet)

Yes, drop rates for the documents are supposed to get lower and lower as you get more documents.

Already at 9 docs. It took me nearly 1 day to get the ninth docs using medium. I only do PvE to get the briefcase and try not to level up by having less than 5 briefcase. Only when I finished opening the 5 briefcase will I do PvE to get new briefcase. I am at Lvl 44.

Day 3 was really bad for me. I opened just four of my cases with no doc at all. I still have my 7 doc since day 2. Day 4 started the same way with 2 attempts and 2 sorries already. On the other hand, my wife started at the end of day 2 and already is getting close too me. The worst of that is that she tried to open around 6 cases while I tried 19.

Well, day 4 is already better than day 3 to me. After 3 sorries I got one more doc bringing to a total of 8 docs. 2 docs left now and 4D and 20H till the end of this event. I'm feeling this time the lucky will be with me. Fingers crossed and lots of patience!

I got my last document yesterday. It takes 120 boxes to get it all. Opening 120 boxes gives you almostb30 million cash and 20000 valor points.

From crude calculations it is equivalent to spending 125$ buying cash and equivalent cash amount of units and Paying 100$ for the 20% build time reduction.

120 cases!? That's 5 full days worth (playing 24 hrs)... We are only in day 3- you must have used gold to reset the timer. Or was fortune to run into that timer glitch. Well, I guess hearing someone made it- is reassuring. Costly tho. Congrats to those that found 10 doc!
