Avatars and people perception

Maybe it is just me, maybe I'm a bit weird (wallows in mud), but I find myself judging peoples persona and character, and sometimes even pre-judging their posts, based on what their Avatar picture looks like.

Yes, clearly this is extremely stupid and completely illogical.

But I can't help myself.

So using my warped logic...

JoeyCool is friendly and would not dig holes in your garden.

Nicholost is like the Football Team Captain kind of guy.

CrimeCityMark is a bit stiff and aloof.

G-Wiz has multiple personality disorder.

Ghost is mostly invisible, sightings are rare, he comes and goes.

Swifty is sharp and quick witted, but I wouldn't trust him around my chickens.

CounterSniper is a bit mean and angry.

Dillinja is so very very old his picture was only available in black and white.

Max Power is a bit grumpy.

AppleMacGuy has a Nissan so is clearly cool, with a keen understanding of great value.

Emcee needs to shed a few pounds.

Erik is generally mistaken for a cold-hearted SOB but under that harsh exterior he is actually one of the good guys.

Fig Oni is probably best avoided, definitely a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic.


Some of these might be wildy inaccurate, so apologies, no offense intended. No really ;)

Haha! That's funny. I'm nothing like a team captain. I hate team sports and don't consider myself a leader. I do have short, dirty blond hair, handsome jawline, and large nose picking fingers, but I am not football captain material. Actually, just imagine my avatar with a horseshoe mustache and that's what I look like.

Love bikes, love speed, but no matter how good a rider you are, there is always the chance that some idiot in a car will wipe you out because he is too dumb to consider that there might be bikes around.

if people are good looking or not is something i couldn't care less about, it's the personality that makes a person sexy. and i'm really not saying that just cuz it sounds good. it's just nice to have a face on the people you're talking to :) maybe i should start a thread where people can post pics of themselves.. :)

I agree, having a picture of yourself and/or a picture that you took that you feel resembles yourself adds to the community-feel of the forum. It'd be nice if having albums wasnt a hassle to do, but everyone can do an avatar or profile pic in photobucket/what Burn posted for pics the other day (forgot what it was; sorry). but if that's not comfortable with someone, I respect that.
