Ok so i am new to this game and I am wondering how the game works?

How many of each item can you own and actually use? Like If I were to buy 90 trench coats would I be able to use them all?

Are you supposed to have so many weapons, armor, melee etc per ally or how does that work?

I have purchased alot of armor and weapons yet my attack and defense do not go up. I know how allies work etc and I havent reached my item limit for my level yet it still doesnt allow me to use them.

If anyone can help out I would be very grateful! I'm confused as to how the game works. I have purchased alot of trench coats yet when i attack someone they aren't even used?

If you haven't already, start by reading the links in the Best of the Best sticky thread at the top of the forum.

There are no limits to how many of an equipment type you can own. You will only use at most one for each member of your mafia up to the level maximum (level * 5, with a max of 500). The game will pick your best items for each category during an attack or defense. You do want to equip each of your mafia being used with a full set of equipment - gun, melee, armor, if possible vehicle, and when you can afford it explosive.

This link isn't in the best of the best guides thread (but it should be)...

Getting Started: Power Level Guide (Gold Free, Zero Camping, 100% Active Play)

I started by following this guide, and still loosely follow it now. In terms of getting maximum fun from the game (surely the whole point) this method works well.

@Burn

Thanks for the link. I had already read that one, but it was well worth reading again.

I bookmarked it this time so I do not lose it.
