On my main iPhone account I have no Gold buildings and no Gold weapons, although got a few crate items that I bought with money left over from Gold bought to get Diamond Sig.

Let's just assume, the day comes when I lose my mind, and I decide to drop £1000 (about $1500) on Gold. During a sale of course ;)

What would a Gold haul of that size buy you in terms of Att/Def points?

And what is the biggest amount of dollar you've dropped on Gold in one hit?

If my math is right, that would buy you roughly 27,000 bars of gold if you bought during a 20% off sale.

No idea where your vehicles are at, but 27,000 bars of gold could buy you 31 Eye in the Sky helicopters at 860 gold a pop. The stats on that vehicle are 256 attack and 191 defense. Assuming you have 469 vehicles or less, the full amounts would be added to your stats, so you'd gain 7936 attack points and 5921 defense points.

Worth it? Methinks not.

Assuming the above is correct for gold bars your expected values would be 29005 attack and 24395 for defines assuming you have no other items, working soon to come

With the current creat items:
Adding all attack values of rare box divided by 3 gives 179.3 average attack per weapon.
Te same for rare and defines, the average def is 117.3

For middle create average attack is 66
Average def is 65.3

For common attack is 27
Def is 24

Calculating attack
Expected value = 558 * (.1(179.3)+.25(66)+.65(27))
558*51.98 = 29004.84

558 is the number of creates you can buy, 27000 gold, 3 creates at a time
3(27000/145)=558.6 round down to 558

For def
558 * (.1(117.3)+.25(65.3)+.65(24))
558* 43.655 =24359.49 rounded down

Burn, come on man. The answer is so simple: "a lot."

Actually, since crates and non-consumable explosives would be the best options for increasing stats, you wouldn't know what the actual stat increase would be without making some assumptions on the probability of crate loot drops and crate loot content. Plus, since new, better items replace existing items, we would need to know your current inventory to be able to calculate the actual gains you will receive.

My advice for when you lose your nuts and purchase $1500 in gold: first identify your weak categories, then purchase gold items for those categories. For best value, buy gold items with a 1:1 stat (total) per gold ratio. 1.2:1 or higher would be best, but they tend to have lower total stats and therefore cheaper gold price tag. Crate items are the only exception to that statement.

If you had a 20% off sale I think you could get about 197 crates. If we went by the chances you should get 20 rare, 49 uncommon and 128 common weapons. It still now depends on what you get but lets say 20 Prestige ; 40 defenders ; 128 Minis. With this example you would get 8470 attack and 9140 for these items.

OK, I got over my laziness, and did some sums based on really going to town with maximum items as available today.

To buy the best of everything...

500 x Quattro at 750G = 375000G
Att: 256 = 128000
Def: 175 = 87500

500 x Tech Gatlings at 800G = 400000G
Att: 210 = 105000
Def: 223 = 115000

500 x Spiked Tonfas at 270G = 135000G
Att: 105 = 52500
Def: 108 = 54000

500 x Mesh Combat Gear at 400G =200000G
Att: 65 = 32500
Def: 163 = 81500

500 x Smart Bomb at 220G = 110000G
Att: 109 = 54500
Def: 71 = 35500

Total Attack: 372500
Total Defense: 373500

(Feel free to double check my math, I totted up the numbers fast and loose).

Total Gold to achieve this is 1,220,000 at a real money cost of £56925 ($90000)

I'll get it tomorrow ;)

If I worked at Funzio, I would have that sh!t loaded up on my account, I wouldn't attack anyone, I'd just be in the game for people to stumble across me and then see what they posted on my wall ;)

If your talking long term, if your only spending $1000's, there is not really any point going for items > 350 gold, you won't be able to get 500 of them, and the gold per stat is massive compared to the lower ranked items.

To take into account the 'actual' worth of the gold item (how much a/d it will add over free weapons), a good rule of thumb is to subtract 20/20 from all item stats (I know this is very inexact). The best long term items soil be ballistic armour, he'll fires and kanabo's which will add most stats per gold spent of any items (and you wouldn't be able to get 500 with $1000!)
