I am lvl 112 with 1900+ mafia members. With that, I have notice while sifting through "My Mafia" that their is a fair amount of low lvl players that have been like that for months and will probably be like that for good. Some as low as lvl 8 to lvl 30 that have been added when I first started playing.
My question... Should I remove the dead weight?

After 500 you don't get any benefit. Each one of the 500 can equip one gun, melee, armor, vehicle and explosive. If you have 500 you should be aiming to see 2500 equipment used in each fight or robbery. If you don't have that much or at least 2000 (minus explosives) then you should be trying to gear up as much as possible. You don't get any benefit if a person is level 185 or level 8. They both bring the same amount of equipment.

If you are above 1000 mafia, and delete to below 1000 mafia, there is a good chance that you will encounter the dreaded "ghost mafia bug" where you cannot see, and thus cannot visit, your mafia.

If it happens, contact support and have them help you.

It happened to me, and they fixed it to my satisfaction.

Is there any benefit in doing so? Bringing mafia size down to 1000 that is.

This is one of the issue , that should be adressed , if people have 500+ mafia , congrats to them .
Think every mafia after 500 should ad 4 points of defense and attack to the spread sheet . To a max of 1000 .
Or beter yet if a person has 2000 mafia after 500 , every additional mafia ad 1 A and 1 D less of a programming error.
To a cap of 5000 . This will give incentive to people who have huge maffia list and also as additional benefit
Makes the + 1 ally from crates or gold purchase again valuable .

The benefit to bringing your mafia to below 500 is to find a relative sweet spot where you are stronger than most of your rivals.

I do not see any benefit to reducing to 1000.

Took me a long afternoon to deleat 700+ from my mob, I only deleated people with roughly 10 levels less and lower and 10 levels higher than me.
