Weapons that don't increase stats?

Once you have a certain amount of weapons and they no longer change your stat is there any point in purchasing them? Do they increased the invisible score that we can't see? A lot of the missions that I have left required buying things that don't help my score I'm just wondering if there's a point?

Nope, they don't do a thing for your stats once they are replaced by higher weapons.

The only use in buying them is to unlock something in a mission.

I just spent the 1 mil required to unlock Sue Pine so I can farm the DD's and my stats didn't go up a point.
