As some of you know already, I am lvl 43 and have decided to camp for quite some time. the problem is, my stats are way too low for my level bc Im losing thousands by the day from high stats/low econ rivals. I would like to increase my defense to about 8-10k and attack... idc that much for. just defense bc I play the game for the building strategies, thats my interest. I would love some advice on how to increase my def very well without leveling up (much). I wouldn't mind leveling to 50 but no further. As long as I can get 10k def by then.
Thanks for the help!

Here's every bit of my currents stats as of March 12, 2012 (11:30am California, US time)

I think that 10k is a little high for your needs at your level, but I recommend mace to start. At level 43 you can equip 215 of these for a combined defense of 1290 for $688,000. Then you could add Stab Vest's for an additional 1505 defense for $1.9 mil, or Riot Shields (what I invested in) for 2580 defense at $6,987,500. The bottom line is that it's gonna cost you quite a bit to get to your goal.

The other option would be explosives, but I think these should be used with, and not in place of, the other weapons.

Start with mace, then Stab Vest's or Riot Shields. As soon as you see that you aren't being hit anymore, stop investing in these and get back to your economy. Expensive equipment is so much easier when you have a ton of cash (duh!).

Dreno33, this is good advice. Follow this road map.

Only viable option is to drop all alliance members and just have henchmen if you truly want to avoid leveling as much as possible. Buy max defensive buildings available.
At level 43 with near 0 mob and lots of defensive buildings you will be a hard nut to crack.

Interesting reading this. I'm trying to camp on my current level (66) and just keep building economy and stats.

So far I seem to be in the top 10-15% (6821 / 7843 AD) for my level and I found explosives really helped boost these (along with other armor etc) for PvP.

The thing that has confused me is $$ Weapon Values. Example: Stab Vest is rated as 3/7 AD and sells for $9000. Bulletproof Vest is rated 5/11 AD and sells for $80,000. My question is - Would it not make more sense to buy 8 x SV rather than 1 x BPV if I had a spare $80G sitting around??

I realise that some lower class items 'depreciate' as you go up in level, but I haven't worked out a good formula when it comes to buying $$ Weapons.

for every 1 member, you may use 1 of each category (gun, melee, explosive, armor, vehicle)

I will use your logic to the extreme to get my point across:
say you have 200 members. that means 200 in each category. having 10k ski masks does not mean 20k attack. it would use only 200 of those if those are your highest armor items. get it? so in the long run, the bulletproof vest is a wiser investment considering you will have a bit better stats for only using 1 item instead of 8. get it?

I'm trying to 'get it' as you say. I understand the bit about each mafia member using 1 of each category. But isn't the point to simply have a higher Attack / Defense then the other folks who might try to attack you? That was the point of your post wasn't it? TO get to 10K by level 50?

So my question still remains, if I have $80,000 to spend and I know that I'll be attacked overnight tonight, would my Attack / Defense score not be higher if I spent it on 8 x stab vests as opposed to 1 x Bullet Proof Vest.

I appreciate for the long run it is better to buy the slightly higher rated equipment, but there doesn't appear to be a lot of difference in the specs, but a HUGE difference in the $$$ you pay for them.

it all depends on you of course. i look at it as what is decent to last me until lvl 80? by then i hope to have a 200k+ income to where I will only buy most expensive to last the longest. buy ur stab vests now and then have to buy BFV sooner with all that money now wasted on ur stab vests.

like i said, depends on your preferences of course

Basically, if you buy the cheaper items your visible stats will be higher which aren't the same as fight/rob stats which are only visible to your opponent on the results screen.

That's because each mafia is equipped with your inventory so they each have their own att/def score that is then calculated to give you results scores.

I try to use a balanced approach, some of both but not too many of the low stat items because they will eventually be replaced at hgiher levels with higher rated items.

Nice work - thanks for the advice guys. I'll just keep an even balance of things and use the theory if you're high enough defense not to be getting robbed, then just focus on the economy (mine's currently just pipped the $20k per hour mark).

I've heard something before about 'visible stats' v. 'actual fight / rob stats' and it does sound a little confusing.

This game just keeps revealing more secrets all the time - very addictive :)
