Does it make a difference how good/bad a person's stats are when you add them to your mafia?

No, but once you have enough mafia you should be more selective. What i mean is adding people who are stronger than you is smarter than adding weaker people who you would otherwise want to rob and attack. If you only add the weaker people then you shrink your available prey on the rivals list.

This isnt as important when you're starting up but gets more and more important the higher you get. IMO
