Att & Def score missions

I know I've got a little too many questions recently, and this may be noob...

There are a series of missions about reaching certain att/def score. At the very beginning, usually when I finished att, def mission came after. But since I've did some tower build/upgrade, my def is usually +2k over att, and def mission never came anymore...Is it automatically completed or just missed? I do saw some cash increase after finishing the att mission, while the reward screen didn't say anything about cash.
