So as promised I have some stats on how my last death rates looks like.

My att was 3280 (skill 43, allies 60), attack of course changed a bit during the action
Units ~50 high value (osprey, cruiser, amp hovercraft), 30 hornets, ~50 lower valor; the rest - meat

Attacking deff <50% of my att:
20 attacks
gains: ~3mil
looses: ~0.6mil - 4 subs, 4 bradleys, 2 warthogs, 2 infratables, 2 troopers*30k, 1 loot heavy bomber60K, 1 AVENGER*100k

Attacking deff ~70% of my att
20 attacks
gains: ~3 mil
looses: ~1,5mil - 4 comandos, 4 bradleys, 2 submarines, 2 inflatables, 1 warthog, 1 trooper*30k, 1 loot heavy bomber*60k, 1 OSPREY

Well, it seems that attacking less than 50% of your power is not as painful as attacking ~70%, although I lost my valor unit during weaker series.

Maybe too few data to make some conclusions...

Not enough courage to try >70% (last tries gave 300k per attack and lots of looses :) )

P.S. all the defenders I have used as laboratory mouses, no offence, didn't had particular army set (like lots of antiair or antisea, etc) - just simple "zoo" looking army

If they have about 80% of your attack in defence, even after boosts and skill points, they still have a chance to win battles sometimes. Right now peoples' stats aren't showing boosts, so anyone above 70% would probably be able to beat you in a fight sometimes, unless your attack skill points are really high.

Defender always has an advantage in attacks.

Attacker has the advantage in raids.

You mean if raiding I could raid (more successfully than not) someone with higher def than my attack?

I have had that happen to me several times.
