I keep trying to put things in what I consider a "real" setting. You know - the crappy warehouse, meat packing district - the business district - etc. etc.

Everytime I expand it takes me forever to get all my buildings re-arranged.

I do that and I'm a guy. I'm not so concerned about "districts", I just focus on making m hood look professional. Eventually, once I expand enough, I plan to make a "city" with a park, a residential area, a food area, etc. ATM though m space only allows me so much to do. To answer your question: It's not just a girl thing!

I try fit everything in as tightly as possible with no wasted space & rearrange everything to achieve that, just to save the cost of an expansion. I suppose I do put a bit of thought into how it looks too though, I'm proud of my hood & want it to look good! I don't think it's just a girl thing

for now I am just trying to fit all my buildings close together, Ill probably delete my other warehouse, its trash compared to the things i have now. As for designing, everyone has their own taste, Im gonna make my hood look better after my income is 250K plus

I'm focussed on income too, so I put things mostly where I can fit them. Once I get to lvl 185 and have both my casinos built, I will do a big rearrange so everything looks awesome. Since I'm an engineer and not an architect, I may need help with it though :D

In the past I had my hood organized in food, business and then party/club districts. I like change :)

My hood goes through major reorgs every time I am required to expand or purchase new buildings. Each expansion bring it closer to being a perfect sort of buildings by time, and now time groups. 3/6, 8, 12, 24/48.

Pretty for me is reflected in maximized $/hr and ease of looting.

I did the hood tetris thing many times before choosing my current configuration. It may change again at some point but I doubt it. Not unless I sell some buildings or just switch buildings places. Of course, with new buildings and more expansions, I will have an 'old' hood and a 'new' hood to arrange. Once I have all the buildings I really want, my options will be upgrade and expand, and maybe build the other buildings that I don't want. At that point, making things look nice might be an option for something to do.

This is exactly what I do, as well. I have been re-organizing my hood lately trying to make it flow from right to left as 48 -> 24 -> 18 -> 12 -> 8 -> 6 -> 3 but, well, it's just impossible. Not while also prioritizing the maximization of space allocation. Those damn 6x6 and 4x4 fit so well on the edges, and there are tons of 3 hour 4x4 and 8 hour 4x4 so the 6 hour 6x6 buildings muck up the works!!1!!!

oh, and i'm not a girl either. so it's a personality thing, not a gender thing. i hope!

Ya mine is kinda in that pattern too. 24/48's in the top row, 12's in the middle, then 3/8s at the bottom. It just kinda happened that way, wasnt really on purpose. I dont think it really matters to me tho as i just did it for ease of collecting. Its really nice for the more frequent payout buildings to be close to eachother, just makes things simpler when collecting.

It's not a girl thing. Its all about efficiency and packing as much into your hood.

Initially I just randomly placed buildings without wasted space. Now its grouping buildings based on collection time so when I load up Crime City my laundromats appear within the initial loading screen. Most of the hoods I've seen should not need to worry about hood organization but when you have every non gold building plus 2 basketball courts (67 total) up to level 44 except for the 2nd internet company (waiting for the 1st to complete), hood organization is a big priority. My next hood expansion is 5 million.

I see another 19 non gold income buildings to add up to level 90 at present, not to mention adding 50 gatling turrets at level 47 and eventually another 50 missile turrets at level 115 so you can imagine how large my hood will be not to mention the logistical nightmare organizing everything.

I also sort by collection times, and any spare space gets a Gatling.

Mine is sorted by collection times... its easier that way. Once i have the final expansion, i will make it look like a city with trees, parks and districts.

I give no thought to how things look but since i have lots of spare space now and nothing left to build might make things look nice if I ever manage to re gain intrest in Gree games
