View Full Version : 330 M4s?

All,

I recently viewed an opponent's profile and noticed he had 330 M4s (20-22). Can anyone tell me how that was accomplished, as I don't see them for sale in gold, and I have never received one as a loot item, and I have 10K+ robberies at level 105.

Thanks.

Who attacked you? Was it me?

@OP

At level 105, you are getting a late start on farming M4A1s.

I do not envy you.

Quick answer to your question. Farming them at the Boardwalk/Shooting Gallery.

Don't envy me either. I'm level 103 and started like a week ago. I have 27 of them but am zero for about my last 20 attempts at Boardwalk. Boring beyond belief. I seriously doubt I'll make it. I'll most likely go crazy before I reach 100.

For us mid-tier-for-our-level grunts, the M4A1 is very important.

So basically I just keep completing the shooting game over and over until it spits out an M4a1 along with money and XP? Seems like a helluva lot of work and maybe my time would be better served attacking people/robbing to get XP and buy RPGs (36-17 v 20-22). What are your guys thoughts?

Also, sorry to be the FNG here, but anything better than M4s to farm?

Thanks guys, have to start checking these forums more often.

The payout is usually around $2500 for each time, so it's pretty lucrative too for 135 energy. But I think the M4 is the bees knees when it comes to loot drops. Great atk and def, and they're just cool.

Cool, thanks. I've hit the shooting gallery so far about 12 times with no luck. Just keep trying? Or is there another place to try?

I agree on the fact they are the most exciting gun to get.

Keep trying, odds are usually about 1 in 7, I will get the exact odds for you I a bit

I was getting 20-25% hit rate until yesterday, then it stopped dropping M4A1s altogether. Not sure if they changed something or what. I had a great run where I hit 40%, but that was not the norm. You'd pay tons in real money or game money to try and come close to matching their stats.

Drop rate is 1.04 per 1K energy used.

Yesterday I got on a real roll and got like 3 out of 6 tries or something. Since then, and I'm not exaggerating, I'm probably zero for at least 20 and maybe more like 25.

I've been through the same thing, lots of ups and downs.

Farming uses energy, attacking and robbing uses stamina. You can do both at the same time.

The only thing farming does is take energy from missions. No loss there.

I miss the days when M4A1s had good drops in several places. Pier 13 used to be good, Nadya used to be awesome, and BSG has been kind of crappy ever since I started farming there (not even counting junkyard.... 1 gun looted from there out of maybe 150 tries!). During the week leading up to the HD update Nadya dropped me 10-13 M4A1s/day 3 times (I think). I still had a couple hits left on her to finish the job after I updated, and she gave me a parting gift, but I don't think I'll be seeing her again.

To me it seams like when the events are going on the rate drops, I have notice certin times of the day are better than others. My suggestion is dont blow your energy all at on time, do a couple then come back.

My view is that there is a lot of variability in small sample statistics.

But I only have 350 M4A1s, so I will defer to the forum veterans who are done farming them.

Ahh, the good ole days with Nadya. She was a lot like my ex wife - lots of promise, and lots of fun for a while, but she simply stopped giving it up.

I'm on to Leila now, sometimes it's a lot like throwing a sausage down a bus aisle (hallway), but most days she's good to me.

I think you are absolutely correct and its funny that you have to keep saying it. It's amazing the hare brained schemes people come up with on the premise of improving their chances.

The devs must really roll their eyes at some of them.

To me I hate dumping all my energy at one time and not get anything, when most of the time at irregular hours of the day it will drop multiple in a row. To each of his own, there is no guaranty.

I just go like a zombie to the shooting game, unload all my energy, pick up the cash and M4s(if any) and then get on with the rest of my life.

What's your average on leila. I have 11 in 3 days
is that average?

This sort of discussion is really endless, one day nadya is the one, next day somewhere else, I think if you stick to one place you'll get good days and bad. I'm at the shooting gallery and getting between 6 to 9 per day and it's been like that since the lockbox started, perhaps tomorrow nothing but I'll just stick it out and it'll come back again.... I hope lol

Oh almost forgot, welcome to the forum Chris

Well, Nadya WAS the one when the game was allowing for multi-click jobs to drop on every click, so the statistical benefit of that was tangible.

After that bug got fixed, it seems to be a trade-off with drop rate vs RP and energy required. There is no free lunch.

Unless you just use the old version where you can still get multi-click loot. Multi-click loot is still possible on the 2.1.3 version right?

I dont remember the version number, but yes, you can use the old version and exploit the loophole.

just makes me wonder when they start reseting people for playing on older versions to get advantage of multi loot drops. im glad i farmed about 400 be4 the hype and nerfing locations started, but will i keep mine if funzio goes on a fixing streak?

I farmed 385. Once I hit 380, they gave me 0/0. Now the only guns I pursue are RPG's.

Swifty

It might come as quite a shock if they reset people for juggling versions.
