Also there is a hidden section in the menus entitled equipment. In here you can buy all kinds of items that you can use to boost your stats. It's quite hard to find... But if you look carefully you will notice a small tile with the picture of a gun and a grenade on it. If you press this it will take you to this secret area of the game.
