Getting your 400

I finally got to 400 m4s!! God I need a beer - and will go get one shortly. It feels like it has taken forever but I did make it by level 96. I know that I have benfitted tremendously from the forum members in farming/leveling/equipping. I am curious to see how much there is a trend of people getting to 400 m4s (or greater) much earlier - TS will probably get there by lvl 80. At what level did you get to 400 m4s or expect to if you are not there yet?

Probably before that. At level 70 I have 304. M4s are boring these days, though. Now I'm all about Chain Whips. I have 39 of those so far.

I'm all about CWs now as well but only at 14 - collected 120 Yams and 150 NVBs before that. The Thug Life and other PvP goals are helping to speed my CW collection along.

I skipped the NVBs and Yams (and everything else). I'm banking on M4s, Chain Whips, and cash equipment to float me until the lucrative drops for Double Decker and Urban Warfare Vest. Excited to see how it turns out since this is an unpopular strategy.

I'm constantly adjusting but in general the hierarchy is:


Loft
Empire Theater
Collection Agency
Laundromat (levels 4-7)


Wedding Chapels and Palm Hotels would make the list but they're not yet available. I'm just getting to the point where people have worthwhile money robs, mostly Churches.

A note about Clothing Stores: their base may be 1:1, but that's not the growth rate. Respect grows much slower than exp as level rises.

So what lvl did you start farming the m4's?

I am currently at level 87, with 190 M4A1s. At my current rate, I am estimating somewhere around lvl 110. What is frustrating to me, is that I pretty much started farming them as soon as I could as well, but that is part of the randomness of the game I guess.

I got a late start, so at level 114, I only have 286 M4A1s.

Farming is so tedious.

i got late start also but i was never consistent on farming either, i get sidetracked and do other stuff but i think im done with m4s i think that i only a cpl more that would be effective in battle

I started farming the junkyard as soon as I could at lvl 30. I hit a real dry spell in the 70's before Nadya began her slutty ways and then BW became much better during the lockbox event.

I'm Waaay behind. I didnt start farming m4's till lvl 80, currently lvl 83. Hasn't been going so well at the bw for me, even during the lockbox challenge.

Does the junkyard still pay off, if so which job?

I have 382 m4a1s now at lvl 108 and i'm thinking about how far I want to go on farming them, over 450 would be to much i think but 400 is abit low imo..

@countersniper - Blue Scrap Box, but only use if you cant access BW

@bjornrey - I have 500, but only use 462 on Attk and 479 on Defense. If you are not buying Gold weapons or participating in events you can go pretty close to 500.

Note: 19 (Sig, Gold M4, 16x Vengeance from crates, Mod War Assault Rifle) fall into that category for me.

With Nadya off the table, Junkyard yields the best loot-to-exp ratio for players who care about such things.

For folks taking a similar path, I'll share that for the last couple levels I've been successfully robbed quite a few times now. It's generally folks with 14-15k atk. They fail a lot, but manage to get through, too. Generally they have little or nothing of value to attack back, although I wouldn't bother anyway since anyone who can touch me - I want no part of being on their newsfeed.

Prior to level 100 I enjoyed a good 30+ levels (at least) where a successful robbery was a rare event, and usually a gold spender with better stats than mine.

There was a big uptick as I moved from 375 -> 400 -> 425 -> 450 mafia, as my M4 A1 farming progressed. If the robberies start hitting for big money amounts on my Lofts/MTs/Upscale/Doms I may check out life at ~400 mafia again. The extra M4 A1 will just have to sit useless until my categories are a bit more balanced. I knew this was a risk, but wanted to continue with Nadia while the gettin' was still good. It's clearly time for me to move on though.

I'd been considering switching farming from M4 A1 to DD at 450 or 475 or maybe 490, but I'm basically set on 450 as my mark for now. I assume broadway and junkyard will always be available to shore them up later.

I'm on CCHD and am torn between how to go after DD. On the one hand I've already got 2 DD from Seymour and have paid the cash requirements for that that job (was testing the waters a while back). At .58/1000 that seems like my best short term option. And is a relatively sure thing for now.

The 1.5/1000 option on 2.2 universal would be attractive, but I have serious doubts that it'll last. The $15.6 Million buy-in would represent a week's worth of savings (and lost re-investment) for me. If I could farm the DD at that rate for months, it would be worth it to go that route, but looking at the full list, and watching the trends and precedents that the devs have made (tough because so much has changed recently regarding rates on farming jobs) that rate looks like a mistake. I am very suspicious it might be changed within a few weeks. And I don't think i'm willing to take a $15.6M chance on that.

I know it's a game where the rules can change, but that's increasingly bothering me. Maybe I was never as interested in this game as I thought. Maybe I've just tapped out on the predictable/stable portion of the gameplay. Having a tendency toward risk aversion, I'll almost certainly take the safer next step on farming with Seymour, but I'm into an area where I feel that I can't plan effectively, which is a big part of the enjoyment of the game for me. I know from how some other forum members post, that has to be true for others too.

Looking at the amount of m4a1 and your low levels, I'm curios to what I am doing wrong.
I'm level 78 and I have 84. I have done nothing but trying to farm them since I hit the Junkyard, then BW, then Pier 13 (wich looks better for me than BW, though I'm back on BW),

It also makes me think about what version different people are using...

If you care about exp-to-loot ratio, rather than energy-to-loot, then it's Junkyard for v2.2, even after Boardwalk and Pier 13 become available. With 2.0.2 Nadya wins every category.
